Dear Expectant Mother,
It’s a struggle to find the words to express our gratefulness for you even reading our profile, let alone choosing to trust us with this precious gift. Letters on a page are inadequate to thank you for your strength, courage, and grace for undertaking this journey and you have our sincere and heartfelt gratitude. Thank you for making this incredible decision and we assure you that there will always be a place for you in the family, in whatever capacity you choose.
Please know that while we’ve dreamed of being fathers for years we haven’t made this decision lightly and have made certain that were ready for this journey. We’ve spent years in preparation for this moment and if you choose us to be your child’s adoptive family be assured that they will have parents utterly devoted to providing them with a wonderful life. Your child will be raised in a loving, safe, and supportive home filled with laughter, excitement, and puppy dog tails.
Thank you for spending your time reviewing our profile. Regardless of your decision, you have our admiration and gratitude.
We first met in college during a history class and have been best friends and partners since. Adam is a special education teacher and actively volunteers in our community while Darren works in insurance as a compliance analyst and enjoys reading and painting. We spend a lot of time outdoors hiking, kayaking, gardening, and making renovations to our home.
We live in a beautiful four bedroom home in the Pacific Northwest. The neighborhood is perfect for family strolls and riding bikes with many parks within walking distance. Dia and Nyx, our two energetic labs, are incredibly friendly and enjoy exploring the local trails and swimming in the nearby lakes. We also have two cats, Sansa and Rue, who greet everyone who walks through the door, thoroughly enjoy sleeping, and have fun playing pranks on the dogs.
Our Family Traditions
We were both blessed with families that provided us with loving and supportive homes. Adam’s family lives about an hour away and we see his mom often for family dinners, working on home improvement projects, and helping with her photography business.
Darren’s parents live in New Orleans and his extended family lives a few hours away. We see his parents throughout the year and this has given us the wonderful opportunity to explore Louisiana. We travel to visit Darren’s extended family and always make sure we’re in town for the annual holiday party.
What Led Us To Adoption
Both of us have wanted to be parents before we even met and we know we’re ready for this incredible responsibility. The patience, humor, and compassion we’ve seen each other demonstrate over the last nine years has convinced us we’ll be great fathers and can provide a child with a safe and loving home. We want to have a family and adopting a child was the only option either of us was willing to consider.
