First of all, we want to reach our arms around you to give you a big hug and say thank you. Thank you for taking a look into our lives and taking the opportunity to get to know a little about us. Thank you for the tremendous amount of love we know you have for your child. We know that this is an agonizing process for you, and we cannot imagine the emotions you are facing on your journey. If you choose us as adoptive parents, we want to be there for you during this time and to make it as easy as possible for you and your child. We want you to know that you can always think of us as a support system during the process. If you choose us, we want to give you and your child the support, love, and comfort you both deserve. We chose adoption so we could help a birthmother, like you, give their child the best home possible. We have a lot of love and compassion to share with you and your child and look forward to making you both a part of our family. Thank you so much for considering us as adoptive parents.
We are a close, adventurous, loving couple who have been together for nearly eight years. We’ve been married for four years. Each year together our love for one another grows stronger, and we cannot imagine our lives without each other. In our spare time, you can find us hiking in the mountains with our dogs or on some days just relaxing and watching movies together. During the summer we like to cheer on our favorite baseball teams. Amanda is a St. Louis Cardinals fan and Marlena is a Chicago Cubs fan. Amanda has been a Registered Nurse for five years and Marlena recently became a Certified Surgical Technologist. We both share a strong bond with our family and friends and we enjoy spending time with them as much as possible.
We live in a four-bedroom, three-bath house within a gated community. We are very lucky to live close to the mountains. We enjoy a beautiful view every morning when we wake up. The community we live in is right across the street from an elementary school and right down the street from a middle school and high school. We also live near several parks. There are many families in the neighborhood who have children - you can see them playing outside often. We have four dogs and four cats, all of whom we love with all our hearts. They are all very friendly animals and get along well with one another. They all love getting attention from people, especially children.
Our Extended Family
Amanda was raised by her grandparents. They have both passed away, but she is still in very close with her aunts, uncles, and cousins. She has an aunt, uncle, and three cousins that live very close to us. We get together every couple of weeks for a family dinner. Amanda has a cousin who has three children and she is the godmother to all of them. Marlena was raised by her father and is still very close to him even though he lives in a different state. They talk on the phone every week and keep each other updated on their lives. Amanda’s family gets together every year on Thanksgiving, and Marlena’s family comes together every year on Labor Day and at Christmastime to celebrate the holidays. We believe family is very important, and we have a strong connection with both of our families.
What Led Us To Adoption
We have both wanted children for a long time. When we discussed our options for having children, we knew adoption was something we wanted to pursue eventually. At first we decided to try infertility treatments. We struggled through this for two years, and after a miscarriage, we decided it was the right time to try adoption to complete our family. We feel adoption is a way to provide love and care to a child and to give them a strong, stable home.
