Dear Expectant Mother,
We would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for considering us to raise your child. We understand what a tough decision this must be, and we truly commend your courage.
If you choose us as parents, we promise your child will not only be loved by us, but by our whole family. All of them are as excited as we are for this journey. We look forward to afternoon walks in the park and nighttime stories before bed. We can’t wait to take family trips to Rhode Island to visit the beach and teach your child how to build a sandcastle. The holidays are going to be even brighter when we go to our traditional day of cutting down our Christmas Tree and visiting Santa. We also look forward to all the firsts, from their first step, first time riding a bike, first day of school. In addition to trips and holidays, we are looking forward to every single day, with freshly cooked breakfast while cuddled up on the couch or pizza nights with s’mores by the bonfire.
We are very excited to start this next chapter of our lives, and we would truly like to thank you for considering us as parents for your child.
We love telling our wedding story about how we got married twice. During our planning process, we learned Amanda’s brother was being stationed overseas, so we decided to get married on the beach where Amanda grew up a year before our originally planned wedding. In addition, we also moved forward with our bigger wedding in the city the next year! We love to be surrounded by family and friends as much as possible. Amanda works as an Event Planner, and Neil owns his own company, building custom furniture. We enjoy staying home and making dinner together or having friends over for game nights. When we aren't home, we’re out on walks with our dogs at nearby parks or enjoying sushi at our favorite restaurant. We know this is only a small glimpse into our lives, but we hope you can see the love we have for each other and how important family is to us.
We love the town we live in. Everything we need and love is close by: parks, great schools, restaurants, and community events. Our favorite spots in our house are our kitchen and back patio. Neil is always cooking something fun in our kitchen, and that always seems to be the gathering spot when we have friends and family over. Our patio is the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy our firepit while sitting under the market lights. Gibson and Chloe, our furbabies, love to be with us outside in the backyard as well. Chloe has so much energy and loves when you play football with her. Gibson enjoys relaxing on the patio while he soaks up the sun and has his belly rubbed. We are very thankful for our amazing neighbors, as well; they are such good friends who have the sweetest little boy!
Our Extended Family
Amanda comes from a very large family: she has seven siblings and seven nieces and nephews! Neil comes from a smaller family, including his mom and his younger sister. Everyone is over the moon about adding another member to our family. Both of our moms are probably the most excited to be Grandmas!
We can’t wait to take our newest addition to the beach, which is by far one of Amanda’s favorite places. One of her most memorable moments with her mom is going for walks and looking for sea glass. We are very big about celebrating, too. We are most excited for birthdays and holidays with our new family member. One of our favorite traditions is to cut down our Christmas Tree on the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Christmas is our favorite holiday, as it’s a day of celebrating and gathering with family in a fully decorated home. Another tradition we’re excited for is Easter. We always made a big dinner and had the best Easter egg hunts growing up, and now we have the best yard to continue that tradition. We can't wait to start our own family traditions with our newest addition!
What Led Us To Adoption
Adoption has always been a huge part of Amanda’s life. She has an uncle and a cousin who were adopted, and most importantly, her sister was adopted. We are thankful that there will be family members that can have that bond with our new addition. When we started talking about growing our family, we both agreed that we wanted to adopt a child in addition to having a child biologically. It warms our hearts to know our dreams of becoming parents will be coming true.
