Dear Expectant Mother,
We sincerely hope that as you are reading this we can provide proof that you are exactly where you are supposed to be at this very moment. We would love to share in your journey and give you comfort that your child will be raised in a house full of love, compassion, and respect.
We want to give your child the opportunity to love and be loved, and we want to be parents that will never forget the privilege that you have given to us. We want to instill a love of the arts and sciences, things that are near and dear to us.
We want to provide the opportunity for rainy days curled up cuddling on the couch together, sunny days of playing outside and exploring nature, holidays full of traditions that help to shape our hearts, and a family full of people to give support, advice, and love. Thank you for considering us as adoptive parents for your baby, and we hope to get to know you soon.
We have been married for eight years, but we have been together for the last 18 years. We actually met in our high school Spanish class. We both love the arts, and the mixture between Brian’s scientific mind and Samantha’s artistic side make for a wonderful blend. It’s one of the reasons we’ve been in love for so long. Samantha owns her own furniture manufacturing company, and Brian is a Cardiovascular Perfusionist, managing the heart/lung machine in open heart surgery. Brian also plays a multitude of instruments and loves playing music in his down time.
We live in a three-bedroom home with our two dogs (Tucker and Phoebe) and two cats (Hershey and Bailey). Our house is a newly renovated mid-century modern ranch home in a beautiful old neighborhood. We have a huge front and back yard, perfect for our family cookouts and neighborhood parties. There are numerous parks nearby, an equestrian horse farm half a mile down the road, a nature preserve, and a baseball stadium five miles away when your little one is old enough to experience their first baseball game. We also have an award-winning elementary school in our district and a number of amazing private schools, many of which are within walking distance.
Our Extended Family
Samantha’s mother has been a teacher for 50 years, and her father owned his own custom cabinetry business. They live about an hour from us. We love helping with projects around their house, tinkering with the numerous antique cars Samantha’s dad has, and hanging out by their pool. Her parents finally decided to retire this year and are looking forward to spending time with a grandchild.
Brian’s mother was also a teacher and lives about 15 minutes from Samantha’s parents in the same area. Brian’s father and step-mother are both real estate agents in Louisiana. Brian’s sister and her husband have four children from ages seven to 18. Brian’s brother also lives nearby and often comes by to have Brian help write, compose, and record music. Needless to say, family gatherings usually end up in a 'jam session.'
Our favorite time of year is December. Brian goes all-out decorating the outside of the house while Samantha decks out the inside of our home with multiple trees. We love to bake Christmas cookies with our nieces, and we usually host Christmas day at our house, bringing everyone on both sides of our family together.
What Led Us To Adoption
Our struggle with fertility led us to the ultimate decision to adopt, because adoption is a truly beautiful act that positively impacts everyone involved. We both have close friends who were adopted, all of whom stand as proof that beautiful families are created regardless of a combination of race, gender, or preference of who you love. We are hopeful to have the chance to create that beautiful family and would be flattered if you select us as adoptive parents.
