Dear Expectant Mother,
We want to thank you for considering us as you go through the difficult task of looking for the perfect family to love and raise your child. We may never understand how hard this decision is for you but have experienced heartbreak of our own and know it takes a lot of courage and strength to get through. We would be honored to have the opportunity to raise your child and can’t wait to share all the little bits of life with them.
We are looking forward to many hours of reading books and learning new things with your baby. We can’t wait for all the challenges, from teething and potty training to getting them ready for school each morning and helping them with homework and also, the fun stuff, like watching cartoons with them and teaching them how to ride a bike, how to swim, and how to to bake cookies and grill the perfect steak.
Your baby will be so loved. We have so much love to give, and our whole family is so excited by the prospect of this tiny person joining our family. Ultimately we can’t wait to help them become the person they are meant to be and to enjoy the journey of their growth.
Thank you for considering us as a hopeful family.
We met while working at Walmart together and found that we were both interested in technology. We decided to go back to school and helped each other to remain focused while in school. We were married shortly before we graduated and have both found careers in technology. We are hardworking individuals who understand the balance between work and family life. Casandra comes from a big extended family, and we love spending time with them. We both spend our free time tinkering with computers and playing video games, which leads to us often being our family's tech support. While John spends most of his summer grilling and smoking BBQ in the backyard, Casandra spends a lot of time organizing and planning in her journal. We are ready for the next step in our adventure!
Our home is an adorable ranch-style house in a small neighborhood near the heart of our city. We have two fluffy cats that love to cuddle. Our yard is large and has lots of beautiful flowering trees and flat spaces perfect for a future swing set and playhouse. The neighbors are quiet but friendly, and it isn’t unusual to stop and chat during walks around the block. Our city is continuing to grow our downtown into a multicultural hub, and we have several festivals available throughout the year as well as new parks and events being hosted nearby. There’s so much here for a family to explore and contribute to, with events for all ages.
Our Extended Family
We spend a lot of time with Casandra’s large extended family with five aunts and uncles, and 14 cousins, and 20 second cousins. Family has always been a huge and important part of our life. Our family events used to take place at Grandma’s house but have grown so large in the past few years that we have started renting out a hall for events. For most holidays, we host potlucks and everybody brings something yummy to share. John loves to be creative in the kitchen, and whatever he invents to take is always the first to get eaten!
In the summertime, we like to spend time at the small lake cottage our family shares. The lake is full of childhood memories: roasting marshmallows over the firepit on the beach, watching fireworks on the Fourth of July, swimming until dusk every weekend, and riding bikes along the dirt roads down to the ice cream shop.
In the fall and over the winter holidays, we like to bake and decorate cookies to give as gifts. The girls in our family get together and share recipes and ideas, spending an entire weekend together crafting and creating.
What Led Us To Adoption
John's brother adopted a beautiful little boy seven years ago. As we struggled with our infertility, we have watched their family grow up and have decided to look at other options to grow our family. We have always envisioned our life including children. We can't wait to experience the joys and challenges of parenthood and feel blessed that adoption might provide us with that opportunity. We have a lot of love to give and have realized while spending time with our nephew and our extended family that we are missing a piece of our family and are excited to find them.
