Charity is from Richmond, Virginia, and Konrad is from a small town near Warsaw, Poland. Although we come from two completely different parts of the world, our love for travel, language, music, and stimulating conversations connected us instantly! From topics as varied as the complexities of the universe and spirituality to what to eat for dinner, there’s always excitement and discussions full of life and positive energy. We are both working professionals in technology fields. But when we’re not working, we enjoy exercising, going to the beach near our home, cooking, and trying new foods. We love discovering new restaurants and points of interest in our city, and we serve as unofficial tour guides to show our family and friends around town. Spending time with our family is one our favorite activities. Family is very important to us. We travel to Europe and throughout the United States to visit our loved ones.
We live on a quiet, palm-tree lined street in South Florida that is ten minutes from the beach. Our home is fully renovated with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a garage. There is also a large terrace where we sit outside to have dinner some nights. And we love to lie in a hammock, relaxing in the sun. We decorated our home with items from our travels to reflect our diversity and love of adventure. Our home is on a huge lot surrounded by palm trees and lots of fruit trees, with avocados, coconuts, and delicious mangos. Our yard is also landscaped with many tropical plants, such as clusia, and brightly-colored crotons and orchids.
Our Extended Family
Variety is the spice of life and our family is no exception! Konrad’s family lives in Poland outside the capital city of Warsaw. We travel as often as possible to spend time with his mom, younger sister, and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. Whenever we get together, it’s a time a filled with happiness, long talks, and lots of food! Konrad’s mom is a wonderful cook and makes delicious pies and cakes—especially Konrad’s favorite raspberry tarts.
Charity’s family lives on the east coast and we visit often to see her mom, sister, nephew, and step-dad. We have a great time playing board games, laughing, and eating the delicious food her sister makes. We enjoy watching college football games together and take trips to watch our favorite team play whenever we can.
We both are very close to our families and we talk daily. Our families are very excited about our adoption journey and have been extremely supportive!
What Led Us To Adoption
Since she was a child, it has been in Charity’s heart to adopt. Charity always wanted children and knew that adoption would be a great way to start a family. After meeting Konrad, she was excited to learn he also wanted to grow a family traditionally and also via adoption. Knowing we were on the same page about creating a family, Konrad saw even more that Charity was “the one”! When faced with fertility challenges, we decided to not wait any longer. Our call to adopt was clear!
