Dear Expectant Mother,
Where do we start? We can’t even imagine the emotions you’re likely feeling if you’re reading this. You are already strong and brave for even thinking about an adoption plan for your precious child. Because you are reading this, we know you are thinking about doing nothing but the best for your child. The one thing we know is that you can’t control timing. Whether or not you believe in God, we think the world works in mysterious ways and that there is something great that comes from every situation, even when at first it might seem otherwise.
For you to even consider giving us the responsibility to raise your newborn, we are thankful. While we cannot conceive a child on our own, we have put in place the foundation for any child to succeed. We have a stable home with loving family and friends who are willing and able to support us along every step of the way. With Chris as an educator and Jim as a businessperson, we have balance to ensure nurture and needs are readily available.
We know that in time, a match with the right child will happen, and we can’t wait to meet him or her. It is without hesitation that we wish you and your child nothing but the brightest futures.
We dated for quite some time, but early on it was obvious we were meant for one another. After two years together and a beautiful country wedding, we’re ready for the next chapter. We enjoy working in the yard, watching and playing sports, traveling the world, staying home with our animals, spending time with friends and family, and learning about culture through food and restaurants. Chris is currently working as a tutor as we wait for the arrival of our first child, when Chris will then be a stay at home dad for the first few years. After studying business in college, Jim spent much time moving across the country and traveling the world for work. He now leads operations for a global manufacturing company. Our love and stability means we are ready and excited to welcome our first child into our home.
We live in a beautiful and cozy, family-friendly home on an acre of wooded land. After moving here last year, we’ve done lots of work inside and out to prepare this “nest” for our family. With us are three animals: a ten-year-old golden retriever, a three-year-old cat, and a one-year-old rescue who is part Jack Russell. Our house is full of love, life, laughter, and, yes, vacuuming.
Our Extended Family
Chris’s family is amazing! Most of them are in the Philadelphia area, although some are also nearby in the south and a couple more in D.C. While separated geographically, we get to see them many times per year. Chris has two brothers and a sister, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and one living grandparent.
Jim’s family is also great, and many of them live nearby. The remainder live in the Cleveland area and, like Chris’s family, we spend a lot of time with them. Jim’s parents, grandmother, brother and sister-in-law, aunt and uncle, and cousin and her wife are all in the same area. We get to see them a lot, which is a blessing. Jim’s sister, brother-in-law, and two nieces live up in Ohio, and we get to see them a few times per year. Jim also has many more aunts, uncles, and cousins, and every last one has supported us in our journey to adopt.
What Led Us To Adoption
We have always wanted to have children, which is one of the many things we found important in our love for each other. We have big, supportive families that are starting to have children of their own, and we want to create our own memories with our own family. We have extended family who adopted, and it has inspired us even more. As we look into our future, we see ourselves sharing our life with a special little one. These memories include flying around the world, traveling to Pennsylvania or Ohio for the holidays, and playing in the backyard with our animals. We are so excited to continue building our family.
