Dear Expectant Mother,
What can two people say to a beautiful person for this amazing gift you are considering giving us? All we can say is thank you, and yet that doesn’t even begin to express to you just how appreciative we are. You will forever hold a special place in our hearts. We can honestly say we have loved your child since before we met him or her. We often talked about adopting a baby and what a joy it would be. You might make that a reality. Thank you!
We promise you that your child will be forever loved and cherished by us. We will ensure that your baby knows where they come from. We will always think of you as your baby grows into a wonderful human being. You will always be the reason for that. We cannot wait to meet your baby. We dream of holding them, kissing their little face, the smell of their hair…everything. We believe in diversity and accepting others and their lifestyles. We will teach this to your child. If you choose us to raise your child, we won’t fail you.
You are very courageous to make this decision. We will never forget you nor will your baby. You will always be a part of our family and our lives.
We have been together nearly twenty years and have been completely devoted to each other from the moment we met. Leah is a Nurse Practitioner and will be going back to school to complete her Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner degree. Chris has been a stay-at-home dad to our two beautiful daughters ever since his military service ended six years ago. He loves fixing their lunches and cooking dinner for the ladies at the end of the day. At the end of the evening, everyone likes to lay around on the couch watching movies and eating popcorn together. We enjoy family vacations, holiday get-togethers, and BBQs. We are a very loving family and can’t wait to shower your baby with love and affection!
We have a ranch-style home on a quiet street and live next to a very large park with a playground. The majority of the neighborhood kids can be found here. Our friends and family can usually find us in the backyard BBQing and enjoying the amazing weather. We have two goofy dogs that love to cuddle with our little girls and a cat that thinks she runs the house. Our boxer, Lindsey, has a fondness for licking you to death. Our other dog, Benny, thinks he’s a cat and likes to nap on the top of the couch.
Our Extended Family
We both come from strong, loving families. They are always there for us. Leah’s family lives in South Carolina. Her mom, Cheryl, and her younger sister, Sam, always look forward to our trips back east. Our kids and their cousins are close and usually spend hours a week talking on the phone. Chris’s dad lives right down the road. Grandpa Steve spends most of his free time hanging out with the grandkids. Chris is very close with his step-sisters, Simone and Amber, and their families. Both are diverse. Simone has three biracial children, and Amber adopted her wife’s daughter, Hailey. We love having large family get-togethers. We leave it up to Simone to do the planning. She is the boss and makes sure we are always doing family events.
We cannot wait to include your baby in our family traditions: the annual Christmas parade, opening day of baseball season, July 4th BBQ, and our yearly family vacation with Grandpa. Our family has always been so supportive of our kids and our endeavors, and they are so excited to meet the newest addition to our wonderful family.
What Led Us To Adoption
After several years of trying to find the right time to expand our family, we found that we were no longer in a position to go through another pregnancy. We chose the adoption route because we still have a lot of love to give and want to continue growing our family! Our kids are so sweet together, and they are looking forward to having another forever playmate. Adding another beautiful baby to our family will be a blessing to us.
