Dear Expectant Mother,
We are honored that you are reading our letter and considering adoption for your baby. It takes a considerable amount of trust to let others care for the child you have brought into this world, and we are so humbled that we are in your mind as possible parents.
It goes without saying this is not only a difficult decision, but an incredibly personal one. We can only imagine how you must feel, and we want to give you our word that you have our unconditional love, trust, and full support as well as a safe and stable home. Your child will have many opportunities for a happy and fulfilling life, and, most of all, he or she will be loved.
We want you to know that we look forward to being parents more than anything: providing love, creating opportunities, and discovering new adventures together as a family.
We met in Arizona in 2005, went on one date, and from then knew we had both met our forever partner. We got married in 2008, and ten years later, we’re still going strong! We now live in western Pennsylvania, where Maury works as an HR vice president with a major energy provider, and Chris works as a certified elementary school teacher. We believe the work/life balance is essential to a happy, healthy relationship, and so when not working we love spending time with friends and family. Ultimately, quality time is of the utmost importance to us, so we can always be found doing something around the house together, whether it’s working outside in the yard, relaxing on the back patio, or simply watching reruns of our favorite television shows.
Our house has four bedrooms, four bathrooms, and a finished basement. It is more than large enough to accommodate family and friends, as well as our two English bulldogs, Fiona and Pippa. Our backyard is fenced-in and landscaped, and it comes with a back deck and plenty of space for grilling out. Our community is kid-friendly, and there is a park and a recreational area only minutes away. We are also extremely proud that our school district is one of the highest rated in Pennsylvania.
Our Extended Family
We both come from very dynamic families. We have siblings, nieces, and nephews whom we love more than anything. Our families are founded on the principles of love, honesty, communication, and support: they have been nothing but supportive of our relationship with each other and our decision to adopt.
We have created many new traditions and memories that we love to share. We love to travel and are always sure to buy a refrigerator magnet that represents the cities we’ve visited, but one place we always return to is California, where we sail with our friends. Birthdays and Christmases are very special to us as well; not only do we spend them with family, but we meet up with friends from California and Texas every year to celebrate together.
What Led Us To Adoption
We’ve always believed welcome a child to our home would enhance our lives. Our best friends have adopted two boys, with whom we are very close, and after witnessing their journey we decided it was time for us to take this next step in growing our family. Adoption, for us, means having enough love in our hearts to share with a child, and we believe our hearts are bursting with the yearning to find that one special child to share our lives with.
