Race of child interested in adopting: No Preference
Gender of child interested in adopting: No Preference
State I live in: FL
Thank you for considering me to be your child’s adoptive mom. I am truly blessed by you. You have shown genuine strength, courage, and love in making your adoption plan.
If chosen, I promise to love and cherish your child forever. As we go through this journey, please know that you will always be in my heart and in your child’s. I know this adoption journey is going to be amazing, challenging, educational, hopeful, and miraculous; it is but the first chapter of your baby’s life, and we have a lifetime to love and grow your child. Your child will grow up with and be loved by myself, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins galore. With this, I leave you with a few thoughts of activities and milestones in which I will provide to and for our child: listening to and learning from our elders, baking cookies, playing, gardening, attending birthday parties and school events, and being there to hold and hug your child always.
As I embrace the role of motherhood in writing to you and anticipating adopting your child, I begin to realize how powerful, enduring, unbending, and everlasting a mother’s love is for her child. If you choose me as your child’s adoptive parent, I will honor you, your family, and your child—he or she will always know the love of both of our families.
When I told my father I was adopting, he ecstatically said, “Any child will be lucky to have you as a parent.” My heart grew when he said that. I have always wanted to have a family for as long as I can remember, and now the time is right for me. I am a single female with job security, having spent 21 years in law enforcement. I have a great home, parents and step-parents, three siblings, five step-siblings, and countless nieces and nephews that I helped raise over the past 25 years. I have a strong support system through family and friends. I am blessed my mom is relocating to Florida and my child will get to grow up with her. I truly love my family and close friends and look forward to happily raising my child with them.
I fell in love with my home the first time I saw it, and I love opening it to every family and friend. I have a small container garden that I love – I’m growing flowers, tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, radishes & zucchini – and I cannot wait until they are ready to eat. I love spending time at the zoo, museums, water parks, and the beach, all of which are close by. My best friend, Natalie, lives close to me, and our families get together often. Schools for all grades are nearby, and my work is only 20 minutes away. I have friends, family, and colleagues who are all willing and able to help if needed, so your child will truly be loved by many.
My Extended Family
I have four biological siblings and three step-siblings, and we are all quite close. My oldest sister lives in Jasper, Florida, where she is a school teacher, is married, and has two grown sons. She also has tons of animals and loves to spend time with family. My younger sister lives in Colorado, owns a cleaning business, is very creative and adventurous, and loves fun hikes and camps in the Rocky Mountains. My baby brother is a manager for Lowe’s and a City Council member in Jasper. He also is all about family.
We are all very close and enjoy spending time with each other. We travel and vacation together and spend every holiday together. I love going to church with my family and growing the values that we have grown up with – to love and help each other in the fullest manner possible. I hold my family first and will give everything that I am in loving your child unconditionally.
I also have countless cousins and extended family. We meet annually for a Fourth of July family reunion and Labor Day weekend. For each, we visit with family, eat, play in the water, and have a great time together.
What Led Me To Adoption
Adoption is the right choice for me, and it is truly how I want to grow my family. I have always dreamed of adopting. I strongly believe in helping others, and I am passionate about encouraging and empowering women to be the best they can be. I have friends and colleagues who are adopted and I see how successful and well-adjusted they are in their lives. Through adoption, I can help at least one birth mom through the journey of her pregnancy, the birth of her child, and move onto the next chapter in her life while also beginning an anticipated journey in my own life.
