We admire you for considering adoption and putting your child’s needs ahead of your own. Please know that, if you choose us, we will be there with you every step of the way.
Wherever the stars lead you, we hope that you find comfort in knowing that you have chosen a family that will cherish and love your baby beyond words could describe. We have a lot of love to give and only wish for the opportunity to give it. Grateful, thankful, blessed, appreciative: there aren’t enough words in the universe to describe how the gift of a child would make us feel. If you choose us as adoptive parents for your precious child, we promise to strive to provide him or her with a loving and stable home filled with family and friends.
We can only hope that through these words, we’ve given you a good peek into our lives.
It all begins when stars align…
We met and instantly fell in love! Opposites do attract! Dixie with her bubbly and outgoing personality and Clarissa with her calm demeanor and stay-at-home vibe. We were married in a hot air balloon in New Mexico, with two of our closest friends. Then we celebrated our marriage again, with our family, a year later. We live in a small city outside of Austin, Texas. We love everything Austin has to offer, food, live music, and the numerous outdoor activities. Dixie went back to school for dental hygiene after finding her passion in the dental field. She loves the relationships she forms with her patients, while at the same time helping to improve their health. Clarissa realized her knack for negotiating and analyzing in the business school at UT Austin. She was fortunate enough to find a job right out of school and has thrived there since.
In January of 2018, we built our first home together. It is a short walk from an elementary school and the neighborhood park and pool. We share our home with our two fur babies, Liam and Lukas. We adopted our dog, Liam, together, three years ago. Our cat Lukas is our new addition to the family, since Christmas. Liam loves hikes and Lukas loves chasing his toy mouse, but there is nothing better than snuggling in bed with moms.
Our Extended Family
Dixie comes from a small family in West Texas. They enjoyed Sunday’s at Grandma’s for supper and card games. She has one younger brother who is an artist and lives nearby. Her mother lives an hour away and is a social worker. She loves spending time with us and is always someone we can count on. Every Christmas, we have breakfast and open our stockings.
Clarissa is from a larger family from South Texas. There are two boys and two girls, and they all grew up playing sports. Her older brother is a firefighter and nurse and has two daughters. Her older sister is an attorney and she lives an hour away. Clarissa’s younger brother is a college student. Her mother still in lives in their hometown a couple hours away, and she is a special ed teacher. We’ve recently started the tradition of all going to a theme park together during the holidays.
We are very blessed to have such loving families that have blended together beautifully. We enjoy holidays and vacations altogether.
What Led Us To Adoption
One of the first and most important dreams we shared as a couple was to start a family. We each had the desire to be mothers and we have shared that passion together. We did not know how or when this will happen, but being parents would be our dream come true. We have always been strong believers in “everything happens for a reason,” so through adoption and this matching process, we feel that the stars will align when it’s meant to be. Adoption has also played a part in our lives personally. Dixie’s father was adopted from Germany. Also, two of our very close friends have used LifeLong Adoptions to start their own family, so we get to share in their joy.
