We realize how difficult a decision this must be for you, and we are beyond grateful for your consideration of us as prospective parents. We have nothing but the utmost respect and compassion for your courage and spirit, and we are here for you.
We want you to know that, if you choose us, your child will be so incredibly loved in our family. Your baby wouldn’t just be adopted by us, but by our entire families. Everyone is so excited for and supportive of this next chapter in our lives. We can’t wait to take family trips to our cabin in Wisconsin every year like James did when he was a child, to play on the beach, to learn how to fish, and to spend the nights by the fireside with family. We’re also looking forward to our everyday lives as well - spending time as a family, playing catch in the yard, and reading at night.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you so much for thinking about us as potential parents. We can’t wait to go through this journey. With our past experiences with adoption, our fun and silly personalities, and how much we love each other, we know we will be great adoptive parents!
James is a high school English teacher, and Elizabeth works in an office for a fan company. We love to tell our story of how we met: in a limo! We were both invited to a mutual friend’s birthday party. Getting together for the first time, we rode around in the limo, where we sat next to each other. We instantly had a connection, and the rest is history. We got married in 2016. We love going to baseball games, playing tennis, golfing, or just hanging around the house. We’re extremely passionate about sports. Elizabeth plays in a softball league, and James coaches and plays soccer year round. In the summers, we love to travel around to different baseball stadiums. In 2017, we went to Chicago, Cincinnati, St. Louis, Milwaukee, Atlanta, and Pittsburgh. We’re looking forward to our new adventures traveling together as a family! Our adoption story actually begins with Elizabeth. Her mother was adopted when she was a baby, and the love and support her adoptive parents gave her meant absolutely everything. Because of this, it has always been our dream to adopt a baby. It’s the thing we are the most passionate about. We’ve always wanted a baby of our own. But with our experience with adoption and people who have been adopted, we know it is the perfect fit for us.
We have a lovely tri-level home in northern Illinois. We spend a lot of our time either in the living room talking, doing word puzzles, or watching TV. But when it’s cold, we like to head to the basement and have a fire in the fireplace to warm up. It’s a cozy town, and we’re about four blocks from a park where we love to go for walks. We’re also a short distance from a water park where we like to go in the summer.
Our Extended Family
Our families are the most important things in the world to us, and we don’t know what we would do without them. We get together often to have dinner, watch sports, or just enjoy each other’s company. Elizabeth’s family likes to have a game night at least once per month, and every time, it’s a blast. These family gatherings always end with board games. Scattergories is a favorite, but we’re always trying new things.
Every year for the past 40 years, James’s family has traveled to Minocqua, Wisconsin, where we rent a cabin for two weeks. We sleep on swinging beds, fish, hike, and spend time reading at the beach. We go every summer, and we are joined by the same few families each year. We’re excited to travel as a family and let our kids experience the same things we experienced growing up.
