Dear Expectant Mother,
While making the difficult decision to find a family for your child, we know the wide variety of emotions you’re feeling must be overwhelming. We are excited to be a part of your plan for your child and hope that the trust you place in us to provide a warm, safe, comforting, fun, and positive home will help to ease the burden of your decision.
Our home and family is full of love and activities that will no doubt be a place that your child will thrive and be happy to be a part of. We spend our lives educating children and working with teachers around the world to make their classrooms a better place. Our promise to you is to bring that same passion for children into our home, where family values and structure are imperative.
Jason is goofy, hard-working, and motivated. He runs our education business from home, and he is excited to be a stay-at-home dad! Greg is silly, outgoing, and an internationally recognized kindergarten teacher, author, and speaker who shares his passion for teaching through our website and conferences. We met in 2010 through Jason’s best friend, and after Greg ran away from Jason the first time we met, we have been together ever since. We were married in 2012. Together, we run an educational blog, resource center, and conference for pre-k, kindergarten, and first grade teachers. We love to travel, watch movies together, and spend time with our friends and family.
We are blessed to live in a diverse neighborhood filled with families of all types. Our home is located in a quiet suburb neighborhood, in a cul-de-sac filled with kids and families as well as a view of the rolling hills of Tennessee! The streets are filled with families, kids, and laughter: most days, you will find the sidewalks filled with kids riding their bikes and playing ball and the parents visiting with one another. Our home features a movie theatre, where we can have family movie nights, and we also have a swimming pool for family pool parties! We live within five minutes of a top-rated elementary school and share our home with our two GoldenDoodles!
Our Extended Family
Greg’s family includes his dad, sister, niece, two nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins, and they all live within three hours of our home in the town Greg was born and raised. His family is very close and gathers regularly for family game nights, cookouts, and birthday celebrations. His sister and cousin just had baby boys, who are both nearing six-months old.
Jason’s family includes his parents, grandparents, and cousins, and they live an hour-and-a-half away, in the town where he grew up. Jason is an only child, and his parents could not be more excited to have a grandchild to spoil. Since Jason’s mom is within a close driving distance, she will play a major role as a nana to your baby. She always looks forward to dog sitting when we are away on vacation, and she is even more excited to babysit her grandchild.
Both sides of our families gather regularly for weekend visits and holidays that are filled with laughter and fun! We can’t wait to have a child of our own to join in the gingerbread house decorating parties at Christmas, the egg hunts at Easter, and the pumpkin carving at Halloween!
What Led Us To Adoption
We have both always wanted to be parents, and this was one of the first things that connected us on our very first date. We attempted surrogacy with Greg’s sister in 2015, but it unfortunately ended in a miscarriage. We took it as a sign that adoption was how we were meant to grow our family. We know in our hearts a baby is in the plans for our lives, and after building a new home, we are now excited to complete our family by welcoming a little one.
