Thank you for taking a moment to learn about our family. It is difficult to put into words the feelings of admiration we carry for you in our hearts. Sharing the gift of life and love with the world is an incredible act, and we cannot thank you enough for considering us to be a part of your child’s life.
We are Hannah and Kaitlyn. We met in 2012 and are now happily married and ready for the next step in expanding our little family. Together with our pup, Kona, we live in a beautiful area of North Carolina. Our life is full of friends, family, and joy. We cannot wait to share our love of music, cooking and the outdoors with your child. Spending time together and making memories with those we love the most is something we cherish.
We hope to impress upon you how immeasurably loved your child would be in our home, and wish you only the best in your continued journey.
We have spent five wonderful years together and have been happily married for three. Kaitlyn works as a regional supervisor for Target, with a vivacious personality and sense of humor that makes her loved by every person she meets. Hannah is a fourth grade teacher, who balances Kait’s energy with a sense of calm and a gentle spirit. Together we enjoy a passion for music, and love taking in live performances. No matter what we love to surround ourselves with our closest friends and family and make every experience a memorable one.
We live in a quiet, friendly neighborhood. There are many children in the community, and we enjoy spending time on our front porch speaking with our neighbors or walking around the pond. Kona, our labrador mix is truly our first child, but she is happy to share the spotlight with a sibling. She is wonderful with children and happy to let them pull her ears. She has gotten a great deal of practice with our young niece.
Our Extended Family
Our extended family is the perfect balance of outgoing and laid back. Kaitlyn’s family lives in North Carolina and enjoys boating on the lake near their family home, or at the beach each summer on our family vacation. We share in Cajun traditions even cutting a king cake for Mardi Gras. There is also a true love for preparing cajun cuisine. There is a true sense of family no matter what we are doing.
Hannah’s family is from a charming small town in South Carolina, complete with a family farm! When all fifty of us gather we enjoy barbecuing on Sunday afternoons, and watching the children learn the best way to collect eggs from the hen house. There are also ponds for fishing, and large celebrations for each holiday throughout the year. With a family so large, there is plenty of love to match!
Our closest friends, or our chosen family, are also a huge piece of what makes our life so fulfilling. We are blessed beyond measure by those who have not only been there for the good, but also trying times of life. We share holidays, engagements, weddings, and baptisms with them all and would be remiss to not share our love for them, as they are all eager to support us in whatever way they can. We are truly lucky to be able to share our lives with each and every person we know.
What Led Us To Adoption
Our journey to adoption has felt more like a calling. We both have a passion for working with youth and somehow each child we have shared our time with wiggles their way into our hearts. We knew shortly after we married that it was time to answer the urge to become parents. Adoption feels precisely right for our family. Our hope is to simply be the people a child needs to become their best. We are ready to cheer, guide, mentor, push, pull, or simply be present in their life. Being able to share this life that we love so dearly with a child would be the greatest gift we could ever hope to receive.
