We are excited for the opportunity to share more about ourselves with you. We know that you have a lot to think about as you decide if an adoption plan is right for you. We are so glad that you have decided to spend some time learning about us and we hope that whatever decision you make, brings you much peace.
Despite the thought and care we’ve put into creating this profile, it is a difficult way to express how committed we are to offering this child a life of love and security. But let us assure you that we will do everything possible to foster a strong sense of self-confidence, the importance of becoming independent and the value of a loving, supportive family.
Our goal has always been to grow our family. We have worked hard to offer the finest education, support and security to our daughter and truly hope to bridge that to another child for our growing family. Together, along with our amazing daughter and supportive families and friends, we hope to add to the safe, family-centered environment that we have built for your child as well.
Thank you so much for this opportunity.
In the ten years we've been together, we've traveled, blended our families, built our home and have grown so close that we can read each other’s thoughts and minds like two people who’ve known one another for a lifetime. We met through mutual friends on New Year’s Eve and we both knew on that first evening together that we were a match that was meant to be. We are both in real estate—James as a Realtor and Brian as the owner of a real estate investment firm. Most of our time is spent with our four year old daughter whether that is volunteering at her school, vacationing, kicking a soccer ball around, or just knee-deep in toys. We value our marriage and our partnership above anything else and we’re looking forward to expanding our family.
We live in a very family oriented neighborhood in Houston, Texas. We love our city! It is filled with culture, diversity, museums, restaurants and so many parks! Our home is also about 45 minutes away from the beach, so it’s the best of both worlds. We live in a new home that comes with a huge backyard and playroom. It is always decked out (from top to bottom) for every holiday and is extremely warm and inviting.
Our Extended Family
We are lucky to have a huge family that is spread throughout the country, which gives us a good excuse to travel a lot! Most of Brian’s family resides nearby, and we spend a lot of time (and most of our Sunday dinners) with his parents, sisters and immediate family. The majority of James’ big Italian family lives in the Northeast. He is extremely close with his two sisters and his many, many cousins.
Family traditions for us means celebrating holidays and special occasions with our family and friends. Whether it be our yearly Father’s Day BBQ, a Shabbat dinner or a Christmas party, we are steadfast in keeping up with the traditions that we have grown up with. Grandma’s Gumbo is eaten every Thanksgiving and James’ Christmas cookie recipes were passed down from the previous generation. We also spend a week each year at Christmas time in New York to celebrate James’ favorite holiday with his family and to catch dinner and show in Manhattan.
What Led Us To Adoption
Even on our first date, we both expressed our desires to start a family of our own. We come from large, close-knit families that are rich in heritage and we have always wanted to pass down our values, traditions and memories to our children. We knew from the beginning that adoption would be the most fulfilling choice for us and that came true in 2013 when we adopted our daughter Reagan. Now 4 years old, Reagan is beyond thrilled to one day becoming a big sister.
