Thank you for taking the time to get to know us by reviewing our profile. Something made you click or pick up our profile to learn more about us, and we sincerely appreciate you doing that. It is hard to truly express who we are and what we are like through a few words on a page or screen. Hopefully, you see the good times we have had, you know the comfortable home we will provide, and you feel the love we have for each other and can offer to a child.
Thank you for your courage and trust in finding the perfect home. Over the years, we have worked to create a comfortable, welcoming home, often opening it up to family and friends for birthday and anniversary parties, family holidays, or game nights, or just casual evenings with friends. We have had 17 years of falling in love more and more through our day-to-day routines and the many adventures we have taken together and we can’t wait to be that perfect home for a child and experience a whole new set of adventures as a family.
Thank you for making someone’s dreams of raising a child come true. Whether you choose us or someone else to raise your child, you will be choosing someone who longs to complete their family with the love for a child. There are lots of good homes you can choose, but we can promise you that our home will be a loving, nurturing one, filled with fun and laughter, creativity and imagination, support and encouragement, and care and comfort.
We met in Sioux Falls, SD, more than 17 years ago and have had the privilege of spending those years getting to know each other better and loving each other more and more every day. We love spending time together in all of our activities, such as traveling, attending fundraising events, watching movies, shopping, playing with our dogs, and just spending quality time with our family and friends. Individually, James likes to listen to music, play the piano, and work in the yard; Jayden likes to cook/bake, read, and sing. We are adventurous explorers and down-to-earth homebodies wrapped up in one.
We love to laugh and sing and have fun, so it is important that our home is filled with those things. Our 3-bedroom house is in a community with a small-town, friendly, welcoming atmosphere and only a short drive to a bustling metropolitan area filled with history, museums, live theatre, and sporting events. We are also centrally located near beaches and mountains. We share our home with three adorable dogs who, when they aren’t lounging on the couch or digging through their toy boxes, love to take walks and go for car rides. Although we keep a cozy, welcoming home, we know a home is made up of more than walls and windows: it’s made up of the love shared by those who live there.
Our Extended Family
We are close to both our families. Our parents and most of our siblings all live in the same city, so we are able to visit most of our family at the same time. Family is very important to us. We were fortunate to have James’ grandmother live with us after she moved from Florida following a diagnosis with a terminal cancer. We are grateful for the time we got to spend with her, caring for her, during her last several months.
We love to travel, as does our family, so we try to plan at least one trip a year together with whomever can make it. James’ grandparents have owned a time share in northern Minnesota for decades, and it has been tradition for the whole extended family to go there every year in the summer. Coming from a family of Disney lovers, we also try to fit in an annual Disney-related trip every year.
What Led Us To Adoption
We have talked about adopting a child for some time. We want to share the love we have for each other, for our supportive family and friends, for our pets, and for life in general. We have been blessed with watching our nieces and nephews grow up, not knowing a life without their uncles James and Jayden. We have also been actively involved in the lives of our friends’ children, serving as Godfathers to some of them. Now, with a change in James’ employment, we are at a place that Jayden can be a stay-at-home dad for our child.
