Dear Expectant Mother,
We would first like to thank you for taking the time to read this and get to know us. Most of all, we want to thank you for having the bravery and courage to carry this child. We could never comprehend how difficult it must be for you to consider adoption. However, we hope you are at least a little comforted knowing the kind of loving home we can provide your child.
Since beginning this journey, we have come to realize how much love and support surrounds us. Our families have expressed their dedication to helping raise your child in a positive, fun, and supportive environment, and our home is surrounded by friends whom we trust and only want the best for our growing family.
We cannot wait to share our love with a child. We want to thank you for considering us as parents to your precious child, and we cannot wait to meet you!
We met five years ago, and the sparks flew instantly. Colin has realized his dream of becoming an airline pilot and loves every moment of it. Jerry is happy to be able to do what he loves most, helping others, through his job as a medical adjuster for Auto Accidents. On our third date, Jerry was introduced to the life of dating a pilot, as Colin was called away mid-date to fly; within six months, we were able to know each other and became best friends. We decided to rescue our dog, Savannah, who immediately stole our hearts. Shortly after this, we moved in together and continued to grow as a couple. While we are both career-driven individuals, our ultimate life dream is to raise a family.
We recently purchased our dream home in the suburbs on the shores of Lake Minnetonka. We live in a tight-knit neighborhood consisting of all ages. A typical evening includes the sounds of backyard get-togethers, children laughing and playing, and the sounds of wildlife. We look forward to providing a home where our child will be able to grow up swimming and boating on the lake. Quickly after moving into our home we were graciously accepted into the neighborhood, and all of our neighbors are excited for the adoption and to welcome a little one. We are thrilled to have found such a loving and caring neighborhood to raise our family in.
Our Extended Family
Colin comes from quite a large family. His parents live a few miles away in the home that he grew up in, and his extended family is spread throughout the country, as far east as Maryland and as far west as Hawaii. Despite the distance, they still get together every year for a reunion at the family cabin as well as holidays and special events.
Jerry comes from a smaller family, but one that is just as close. He has one younger brother who is married with one child, and one younger sister currently in high school who was adopted from South Korea. His family is very close and never misses an opportunity to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, or life event. His parents own a cabin, and we love to get together for four-wheeling, snowmobiling, hiking, or just spending quality time together.
Both of our families have mixed and meshed so well, and we all love to do dinners together and spend time with each other.
What Led Us To Adoption
The discussion of children was one we had early in our relationship. From the moment we met, neither of us wanted anything more than to be able to start a family. Through all of our travels, we have imagined being able to show our children the wide-ranging cultures and traditions of the world. Although we have discussed the multitude of ways to start a family, having a sibling who was adopted helped us know adoption was right for us.
