Dear Expectant Mother,
Thank you so much for taking your time to review our profile and learn about us. We can only imagine how difficult this decision must be, and we respect the process you must be going through to choose what is right for your baby. We feel honored by your consideration.
We believe in honesty and gentleness. We face challenges together with strong communication, and we solve problems in a way that works for everyone. We love each other deeply, and we are eager to share that love with a child. If you choose us, your child will grow up in a home full of love, full of learning and having fun together, and will be able to be themselves fully with our support. We believe that we have a lot to offer your child, and we’re excited to work with you to give your baby every advantage.
Thank you again for getting to know a little about us. We can’t wait to get to know you.
We have been together for 10 years, having met through a college friend. We’ve been married for 8 of those years.
Kate is a Business Intelligence Analyst at Ascension Healthcare, a non-profit healthcare system. Kate enjoys reading, walking around the neighborhood, and drinking coffee.
Jess works as a mental health therapist. She loves music and going to concerts, especially the outdoor festivals that happen around our city. She enjoys playing video games, and she plays and watches tennis regularly.
We live in a 3 bedroom and 2.5 bathroom townhouse in a quiet community in the suburbs. Our home also has a bonus room where the child can play and a library where we both love to read. Our community has a pool where children can play and swim. We have two cats. The older cat, Shades, has been Jess’ since Jess was in high school. Kate and Jess adopted Perry, the younger cat, from a rescue shelter (where Kate volunteered at the time) in 2016.
Our Extended Family
We love to get together with Jess’ sisters and their families for Christmas to eat and exchange presents. We also have a family reunion with extended family (great-grandparents down) every Fourth of July where we cookout, shoot fireworks, and spend all day sitting and talking. The Reunion even has two tournaments (one for Corn Hole and one for Spades), which Jess coordinates. (As you can imagine, getting roughly 60 people of all ages to focus on where they need to be and when is quite a task!)
Besides biological family, we are also very close with Kate’s best friend and her family. She and Kate have been best friends since college, and they consider themselves as sisters. This family has two children, who are both homeschooled like Kate was. We love hanging out with them every Friday night, celebrating birthdays and holidays together, and attending their special events like ballgames and performances.
What Led Us To Adoption
Ever since we got married, it’s been our dream to raise children. Since it is unlikely for us to get pregnant, we knew that adoption was right for us. We both value community and helping others, so adoption feels like a good fit for us.
