Dear Expectant Mother,
You are a treasure, and the decision you’re considering is one that takes strength. I am inspired by you and your selflessness. I know this is incredibly hard, but it is a miracle for me. Thank you for looking at my profile and considering me to be a dad for your child. I am so thankful and grateful for the opportunity.
I keep imagining how momentous it will be when I meet your baby for the first time, how I’ll want to make sure he or she is always safe and secure. I think about running around the house, chasing each other and laughing. Then I think about school plays, dance recitals, baseball, and homework, and I find myself grinning from ear to ear! I’ve allowed myself to think about high school and college graduation a little bit, too, but I try to stop myself because I don’t want them to grow up too fast!
I have such a desire to be a dad. I want to show your child the world, teach them right from wrong, cuddle and read books together, and watch him or her grow into an amazing young man or woman. Your child will be loved. He or she will be safe and secure and will want for nothing. I can promise you, our home will be warm, full of laughter, lots of love, and a place where we can talk about anything.
I am an easy going person, but I definitely have dreams that I’m working towards. One of those dreams is to be a dad to an incredible little munchkin! My friends tell me I’m funny and that I’m a hard worker. I think I’m just trying to do the best I can in this life and enjoy it as much as possible. I believe in a higher power and have faith that things happen when they’re supposed to. I also have integrity and am an ethical person. I want to do good in the world, so I try to always do the right thing. I have three fur-babies who mean the world to me, and I love it when I get home and walk in to their excited wagging tails and barking! I work in higher education and I am an Associate Vice President for Finance and Administrative Services. I enjoy my work, and I like the challenge it gives me!
The best part of my home are the three fur-babies I get to hug, play and run around with, and talk to everyday! I have two Chihuahuas and one Italian Greyhound, who are all lovebugs and they’re so funny! We get to run around the house and backyard, where there is tons of grass. It’s a yard that a two-legged baby will enjoy too! The house was built in the 1940’s and reminds me of old Hollywood. To me, it just feels classy and glamorous and like the perfect place to raise a family.
My Extended Family
I spend Thanksgiving with my mom every year, and we consider it “our” holiday. The food, the slumber after the turkey feast, and sitting on the couch and watching movies are just some of the things I enjoy and can’t wait to share with your baby. I can already picture him or her in a highchair with cranberries and pumpkin pie all over their face!
Christmas is spent with my dad, step-mom, and sisters. This is the holiday that the whole family comes together for. The tree is up, food is made, and stories are told. This Christmas, my gift to everyone is telling them of my plan to adopt (except my youngest sister; I tell her everything, so of course I told her about the adoption first)! The rest of the family I imagine will be surprised for about two seconds before someone screams, “Granny and Pop!” I can’t wait!
My friends are my family too! We spend as much time as we can together, whether it’s traveling or just getting together for a hike. My friends are so excited they get to be aunts and uncles! The time I get to spend with them is always like a holiday!
What Led Me To Adoption
As a teenager, adoption gave me hope that I would be a dad. I have friends who are adopted and friends whose parents adopted. I always hear that it is a blessing. I believe this is an exciting time in my life, and I know this can’t be easy for you. Please know that whatever you decide, it will be the right decision. If I’m lucky enough to be the chosen dad, I will love your child more than you can possibly know! I don’t even know the words to describe how this makes me feel. This has been a long, thought-out journey, and I’m ready and able to give your child the life he or she deserves!
