Dear Expectant Mother,
We cannot imagine how you came to the decision for adoption, and hopefully for choosing us. We pray for your heart, and the heart of your incredible baby, in every step of this journey. You see, we cannot grow our family in the most traditional sought-out way. We are two women, madly in love, who want to be a part of your loving heart, and the very thing you are capable of.
Your wellbeing is utmost important to us. Not because we are medical professionals, but rather we care for you, without even knowing you. We hope you are able to make it through every day, knowing that you are an amazing individual, whom is courageous, and loved.
We are steadily nervous to think you might be apprehensive in choosing us. We are nervous to be mothers together, even with the immense support we have from our own mothers. Even so, we feel so lucky to be included in this, and hope that one day, the blessings we have received will be able to pass to our future children, and most definitely back to you.
We met while working at the same hospital, as oncology nurses. It was truly love at first sight. We spent the next two years developing our careers, separately. We later married in 2017, a private ceremony under a Spanish-moss-covered oak tree. We both enjoy swimming, laughing with and at one another, staying up to date on the latest movies and exploring the local beach.
You can usually find Juliannette making a mess in the kitchen, listening and dancing to music; while Kelly is ordering pizza to save the day. Kelly loves to mow the lawn in neat patterns, while Juliannette enjoys the air conditioning as she tidy’s the inside of their home.
Our home consists of 3 acres to roam, a swimming pool to cool off in the summer, and plenty of relaxation space inside. We have three dogs: Mya, Jackson, and Watson. They are all Australian Sheppard’s who greet each guest with kisses. Our neighborhood is a mix of active and retired military personnel, whom are family oriented. We love our community.
Our Extended Family
Our traditions are now mixed with American traditions and some Puerto Rican heritage. Juliannette’s family is flamboyant, outgoing, welcoming and always dancing. Kelly’s family loves to go out fishing, inviting over friends for outdoor grill adventures, and camping. When both are mixed, you can sure to be entertained with plenty of laughter and lots of music.
Although Juliannette’s family is a few hours away, they always make efforts to travel a few times a year for birthdays, and Christmas. A typical Christmas holiday includes dancing till midnight, a prayer for peace and love at midnight, with exchange of gifts from each family member.
Kelly’s family happens to live on acres of land, only steps away from one-another. So when they visit one family member, they visit them all. Eating well and often, as well as playing cards seems to be a regular theme within the family. Fourth of July celebrations still remain the biggest tradition, as all the family gathers in the city center to watch the spectacle of fireworks and the smell of barbecue to fill them with more memories.
What Led Us To Adoption
We both love family. Juliannette is one of nine children, and Kelly is one of three. Neither of us could see a life without expanding our own family. We feel blessed to be given a chance of adoption, and would love nothing more than to see our family grow. We had a conversation with a couple whose life was profoundly blessed with the gift of adoption, and that’s one reason they chose to embark on this journey.
