Dear Expectant Mother,
Family has always been very important to us—including the members we’ve found along the way. We’ve always dreamed of having our own family so we can shower our children with unconditional love and support. We have so much respect and admiration for your strength and your courage in making this decision. We can never thank you enough for even considering us to adopt your child and making our dream come true.
We want him or her to have all the opportunities in life that we never had, like traveling with us to see the world and going to the best schools. Your child will be free to learn new skills and hobbies, and he or she will be able to just enjoy being a kid. Most importantly, we want this child to know they can achieve their dreams, whatever they might be, and that their family, both blood-related and found, will always love and support them no matter what.
We’ve been together 12 years and have accomplished a lot together, but the one thing we haven’t been able to do on our own is expand our family. We’re excited about having the opportunity to nurture and a raise a child of our own. We feel that all the work we’ve put into our relationship, ourselves, and our careers is so we can provide a strong foundation for our child so he or she can surpass us and do great things. We enjoy traveling to both old and new places, watching movies, playing video games, and spending time with our friends and family. Terry enjoys reading and writing. He’s written nine full-length novels and is working toward being traditionally published in the children’s literature market. Kevin enjoys working out, music, and hanging out with friends in his personal time.
We love our neighborhood! We’re located about fifteen minutes from a large city, which is the perfect distance to get a suburban lifestyle without being too far away from the city. We’ve put a lot of work into making our home comfortable. Our home is known for being respectful, kind, happy, and, most importantly, fun. We have a one-year-old boxer named Charles Xavier (or X for short—yes, we are X-Men fans). He’s super affectionate and loves to cuddle; we often joke that X hasn’t met a person he doesn’t love. Our neighbors are friendly, and there are lots of kids in our neighborhood. When the weather is nice, we enjoy taking X on long walks through the neighborhood and stopping at all the green spaces to let him run around and play.
Our Extended Family
Most of Kevin’s immediate family lives in the same city as we do, so we have a very close network of people we can rely on. Terry’s mother and brother also live in GA, only a few hours away.
We love hosting holiday dinners with both our families at our home, and it’s become a tradition that we look forward to every year. The holiday period from Halloween to Thanksgiving and Christmas is our favorite time of year, and we enjoy dressing up in costumes and giving out candy to the neighborhood children on Halloween, throwing holiday-themed gatherings with family and friends, and picking out a live Christmas tree every year.
The first Christmas we get to share with our child will be the happiest and most memorable yet, and he or she will have no shortage of love showered on him or her from both sides of our family.
What Led Us To Adoption
We’ve been considering adoption for several years and are excited about moving forward with the process. We realize adoption is a lifelong commitment and took our time to prepare ourselves mentally, emotionally, and financially. We’ve both dreamed of being fathers for a long time and are ecstatic about the possibility of adoption allowing us to expand our family and help us realize our dream. We will have new purpose in our lives because no longer will our lives be solely about us but also this beautiful child for whom we’ll want nothing more than to watch them grow up knowing they have two loving parents who’ll do everything in their power to give them the best life possible.
