Dear Expectant Mother,
Thank you so much for considering us as the adoptive parents for your baby. We know this is such a difficult decision and commend you on your selflessness and courage in considering adoption. You are an angel to us, and we feel extremely privileged that you would consider us to raise and unconditionally love your child.
We are so excited to give your child the best life possible and a college education. We are always talking about all the adventures and traditions that we cannot wait to include your little baby in. We are eager to play with your baby and to build sand castles at the beach. We love the zoo and whale watching and will take your baby to see the animals on a regular basis. Your baby will most likely grow up a sports fan going to professional baseball games. Your baby will get to take road trips to explore California and the surrounding states, day trips to Disneyland, and trips to see our family in the Midwest.
Christmas is huge for both families, so we can’t wait to see your child rip open presents under the tree from Santa with their cousins and play in the snow. Your baby will be loved so much (and maybe a little spoiled) by our extended family. We are so excited for the possibility of raising your child as our own with unconditional love and an unbreakable bond that will last forever.
Lauren grew up in Indiana. She works as an auditor for a medical device company. Josh was born in Florida but grew up in a small town in Michigan. He owns a business that provides marketing services to other businesses. After living in Chicago for a few years, we met each other in May of 2010. Our first date was to a Chicago Cubs game at Wrigley Field. We dated for a year before moving in together in 2011. After a few years of traveling to Southern California for work, we moved there and fell in love with the area immediately. We bought our first house in 2015 and are getting married in August 2019. Now is the perfect time to add a new member to our family.
Our home is in a central neighborhood that is close to many parks. Our house is a four-bedroom, three-bathroom home. We have a 10-year-old shih tzu poodle, Cubbie, that we love taking on adventures throughout the city and on road trip vacations. Cubbie is looking forward to being a big brother. We have a great group of friends with babies of their own, and we cook out and hang out with them on a regular basis. Our neighborhood is only a few miles from the beach and zoo, so we can’t wait to take your child to these treasured spots.
Our Extended Family
Lauren’s immediate family consists of her parents and brother. Lauren’s parents live in Indiana, and her brother lives in Arizona. They all visit each other several times a year. Lauren goes on an annual vacation with her mom, which is a tradition that started 13 years ago.
Josh’s side of the family consists of his parents, three sisters, and five nieces and nephews. Josh’s parents, sisters, and nieces and nephews all live in Michigan. During the summers, Josh’s family has a week-long event with extended family and friends at his parents’ pool or local lakehouse, which Josh always goes back for.
While our families are not local, we are very close to them and talk to/Facetime them on the phone several times a week. We also always spend Christmas with our families. We see most of our close extended family at the various holiday parties when we do visit. We always ensure that we see our families for important events throughout the year even though we are far away. Our families are extremely excited about us adopting. They cannot wait to have another family member to love, watch grow up, and celebrate life with.
What Led Us To Adoption
Josh and his three sisters were adopted by their stepfather when they were young and have always seen him as their real father because he loved them unconditionally and provided an amazing example of how to be a great person and father. He’s even going to be the best man in our wedding. Josh and his sisters saw that just because you aren’t related by blood doesn’t mean you can’t have an incredible bond and relationship. Lauren has a medical condition that makes it risky to get pregnant. We always thought about how adoption would be a great solution once we were ready. Now that we have bought a house and have a great work-life balance, we are ready to adopt our first child.
