Thank you for taking the time to get to know me. I can’t even begin to know what you are going through, and I am sending you nothing but peace, love, and prayers. I know this is not easy for you, and I can only say should you choose me to raise your child, you can rest assured and know that they will have the most loving, nurturing, kind, compassionate, and patient mother they could ever wish for.
The moment I decided I would move forward with trying to adopt a child, I knew deep down that this is meant to be. So many people put off having children because they feel they aren’t ready. While I know this will rock my world, I honestly believe I can say that I am ready for this. I feel being a mother is my destiny, and over the past few years, everything has fallen into place to prepare my life for sharing it with a child.
Finally, I want you to know that I completely respect and admire your strength and the trust you are about to place in someone you haven’t met. Hopefully, by learning a bit about me, the decision might not seem as daunting. Whatever decision you make, I thank you for you taking the time to read my profile, and send many blessings that everything goes as smoothly as possible for you. Take very good care.
I am a single woman currently working for Google as a consultant. I have worked there almost 14 years now, and I totally love my job. Outside of work, I enjoy living life to the fullest. That involves spending time with friends and family, venturing out to hike local parks, the beach, movies, restaurants, museums, watching sports (especially the SF Giants!), or just staying home and nesting. I enjoy puzzles, games of all sorts (video and board) and particularly love seeing kid flicks (i.e., Pixar, Disney, DreamWorks).
My home is located in the outer sunset area of San Francisco. I like to think of it as the ‘country part of the city’. It’s very quiet and safe, and lots of kids live on my street. I live within walking distance of several elementary schools that are considered to be some of the better ones in the area. I live 5 blocks from the beach and am lucky enough to have a view of the ocean and sunsets from the back of my house. I share my home with two cats - Babes, who is almost 12, and Dexter who is about 10, they’re very sweet and loving.
My Extended Family
I am extremely close to my family - both immediate and extended. I also consider my group of friends to be family, as I have known them for almost 30 years. My father worked as a rocket scientist (yes really!), and he designed missiles for Lockheed his entire career. My mom stayed at home until I was in 4th grade, then began working as a facilitator at the same company. We strongly believe in education, financial independence, being open-minded, and treating others with respect and compassion.
My Family Traditions
I speak with my parents almost every day, and we try to have family dinner at least once per week. I have one older sister, who is also single. I have many aunts, uncles, and cousins, and every few years we try to have some sort of family reunion. We are all incredibly close. My mom and dad are eager to be grandparents!
What Led Me To Adoption
I have always known that I wanted children. My friends and family keep telling me how great a mom I would make, and so I am turning to adoption to fulfill my dream of raising a child. A few years ago I made several attempts on my own to start a family, with fertility treatments, none of which were successful. I think at this time in my life, the opportunity to try again has passed and I have opened my heart to adoption to complete my family. I truly feel it is my destiny.
