Dear Expectant Mother,
We have not met, but we deeply admire you for the strength, compassion, and selflessness you show from choosing life for your baby, and we would do nothing less than our very best for this treasured little person. We will love him or her unconditionally, and we will surround him or her with as much happiness, love, joy, safety, and guidance as we can throughout his or her lifetime.
The loss of our three babies had left a hole in our hearts, and because of your selflessness, you have given us an opportunity to fill the void with a long-awaited child to raise and love. We cannot express enough how grateful we are for you. We cannot thank you enough for considering giving us the opportunity to become parents. We dream of the days when we can take him or her to the beach, play and ride bikes in the park, go “camping” in the back yard, and turn on the radio at Christmastime, listening to Christmas music and slowly driving through the streets full of lights while drinking our hot chocolate together.
May God bless you for your sacrifice, and may you have peace knowing that your baby is well loved and cared for. Thank you again for considering us as prospective parents for your child.
Mark works as a computer programmer, and Janelle worked as a teacher, but she is now looking to work in real estate. We have been married for 10 years and dated for three years before that. We met at church and have been inseparable ever since! We love to travel together, visit amusement parks, spend time with family, cuddle the dog, and catch Pokémon. We have one small, lazy, adorable, hypoallergenic maltipoo dog, and we think she is just the sweetest dog to everyone! We often spend time with our many nieces and nephews. Family is very important to us, and we have many extended family members living nearby. We both work from home and really enjoy the time we get to spend together. Our family is full of laughter, fun, and love coming and going in many directions!
We are fortunate to live in a very diverse and family-friendly neighborhood. We are in walking distance of very safe and well-kept parks, the elementary school, and the middle school. The schools in our immediate area are very highly rated (8s and 9s). We are a short driving distance to many theme parks, art museums, children’s museums, and different types of restaurants. Although we live in a quiet suburban neighborhood, all the attractive amenities of the city are not far from us. We only have one pet. She is a small maltipoo is nine years old and is relatively quiet, lazy, and hypoallergenic.
Our Extended Family
We both have very large extended families, and we are very close to family on both sides, even if we live on opposite sides of the country. There are, however, many family members who live very near to us, and we see them often. It is not uncommon for someone in our extended family to make a lot of food and then call everyone nearby to come over to eat together, or they will drive to deliver the food. We have playdates as often as we can with the nieces and nephews. We also watch movies together as an extended family, have family game nights or Bible studies at each other’s homes, shop together, and vacation together.
Mark has two sisters, one older and one younger, and both of his parents. Janelle has one sister and one brother, both younger, and both of her parents. But there are also 11 pairs of aunts and uncles on Janelle’s side, each with their own children and some with grandchildren, and 10 pairs of aunts and uncles on Mark’s side, each with their own children and some with grandchildren. Christmas is a special time for us, so we celebrate over several days. We celebrate with Janelle’s side of the family on one day then with Mark’s side of the family on another day, and usually Christmas Day is reserved for immediate families, so we celebrate that day together.
What Led Us To Adoption
This is our first journey with adoption, and we are extremely excited to grow our family! Before our adoption journey began, we unfortunately experienced the devastating loss of three children through miscarriage over the past nine years. After talking with family members, coworkers, and church members who have all gone through adoption, we feel strongly that God is leading us to be united with a child through adoption, and the hope for extending our family has been reignited.
