The first thing that we want to say is thank you. Thank you for the courage to reach out and provide the best love and home for a child and thank you for considering our home. We understand how difficult this decision might be, and we want you to know that, for us, a baby is the greatest happiness that we could add to our lives.
Hopefully, getting to know us means that you will see the loving and fulfilling home that we can provide to a little one and how loved and cherished that baby will be. Through ups and downs, diapers or learning to drive, a child in our home will be loved and cherished and given the best chance at life.
We know that this decision is not made lightly or without serious consideration, so thank you for getting to know us a little bit and hopefully placing your trust in us to be the best parents and providing a great home and a great life to a new baby.
We understand that you have a difficult choice ahead of you and even though we haven’t met, we know that you will make the best choice for that new life and we hope that maybe we could be part of that choice. We are a great and loving couple that could provide an amazingly warm and loving home for a child, and we hope the child that you are carrying will be that new blessing in our lives.
We met in 2009 and dated for four years before tying the knot in 2013. Rob works as the Budget, and Personnel Director at a local University and Matt is a Senior Management Analyst in Finance. Rob likes to play video games on the weekend and reads all kinds of books from every genre or watching college hoops on the TV. Matt enjoys expressing his artistic side with crafts and is always working in the yard or doing other home improvement projects. We love to travel even if it is a quick getaway for the weekend. We find these are the best activities to bring us closer together as a family.
We purchased our home in 2013 with the plan of expanding our family. We have a three bedroom, 2.5 bath home perfect for expanding our family. One of the reasons we jumped at buying this house is that it is zoned for the best school districts in town. The second best feature of the house is the amazing backyard that would be perfect for a fun afternoon of playtime or relaxing downtime with friends or a good book. There is a mix of older and younger neighbors – many with kids. Our family has two furry members named Henry (Standard Poodle) and Stanley (Goldendoodle). Both are loving and fun and think that being awake means, it's either play time or cuddle time.
Our Extended Family
We live close to Matt’s family, and we see them on a regular basis. Matt’s mom and dad are constantly coming to assist with home projects, or we are going to their house for family dinners. Matt’s sister also lives in the same town as us, and they are very close, and she is looking forward to aunt duties. Rob’s family lives in other states, but we try to visit as often as time and money permits; most of our vacations are spent traveling to visit or including family and friends in our travels.
One of our family traditions is an annual Memorial Day BBQ at our house where we invite all our friends and family over for food and drinks. Matt’s family is Basque, and we have a fun time incorporating Basque foods and traditions into our American lifestyle. We love that both sides of our families interact well together and love our friends as much as we do.
Thanksgiving is always spent at Matt’s Aunt’s house, and Matt’s parents stay the night at our house for Black Friday Shopping the next day. Christmas is spent at Matt’s parent’s house that is only 90 minutes away from our home. It’s very comforting to know that a support system is so close. Rob has a twin sister in Phoenix, so it is an easy plane ride for us to head down there for a few days or for her to visit. It’s always fun when she comes to visit because it allows us to explore our hometown and find new adventures.
What Led Us To Adoption
We decided to adopt because we are ready to open our hearts and home to a new baby. We are both successful in our careers and have a loving relationship with each other, and we want to share our lives with a baby. Both of us grew up with families that were caring and fun and boisterous, and we want to give that gift to our child. Our friends have children, and we both want to share in the joy of raising a child that we see happening around us. We have a great life and while adopting is a life-altering change, it is one that we're looking forward to taking head on and with open, loving hearts.
