Dear Expectant Mother,
We can in no way pretend to know what you are going through right now or the emotions you are feeling. But the decision you’ve made to pursue the gift of adoption fills us with profound love and admiration for you and your baby. We hope you know how strong and brave you are. Thank you for taking the time to get to know us better. We can promise you that your baby will be a part of a warm, compassionate, and loving home. We promise your child’s life will be full of opportunities, education, and fun-filled activities. Whether it’s learning to cook with Megan or singing with Matt, your baby will grow up in a home where they are nurtured and cared for, and where their dreams will be encouraged to blossom throughout the years. We will be so blessed to be his or her parents. More importantly, though, we promise to give your baby our time and attention. From the very depths of our heart, we will love your child without reservation or condition.
We send you all the love and light we can during this time as you take on this journey. We truly believe that all things happen for a reason and in their own time. Our hope is for contact with you throughout your child’s life, but we will also respect your wishes fully. We want your child to always know what a gift you have given and what a selfless sacrifice you are making.
We hope you can feel how excited we are to have the opportunity of your little one becoming a part of our family.
Matt and his girls met Megan at a Christmas party eight years ago. It’s hard to describe when you meet the love(s) of your life, but when you do, you just know it. We surprised the girls with a family wedding/elopement, and we have now been married for four years. Our family motto is to “Say Yes To Life,” so we try every day to live in a way where we are present for each other and our loved ones. Matt owns an insurance agency working with senior citizens, and Megan is a chef and owns a prepared meal and delivery company. Our oldest daughter is a freshman in college, and our youngest daughter is in middle school. They are both so excited to be big sisters and to have a baby in the house to love and dote on. As a couple and family, we love doing anything we can do together, like rock climbing, hiking, camping, movie nights, traveling, being outdoors, and laughing. Whatever we do, we have fun doing it, and we truly love spending time together as a family.
We live in a five-bedroom home on over an acre of land, complete with a large, beautiful vegetable garden that we love tending to and eating from during spring and summer months. Our neighborhood is an amazing community of families both young and old, and we have several close friends in the neighborhood that we do everything with, from Christmas caroling, trick-or-treating, backyard barbecues, game nights, sleepovers, and even camping. We have two Yorkie-Poos, and they’re the snuggliest pups you’ve ever met. When we explore the city, there are hundreds of museums, parks, concerts, family festivals, professional sports teams, and so many other activities we love doing for our family outings and cannot wait to experience them with your child as he or she grows.
Our Extended Family
Matt’s mother lives with us, in her own private suite within our home, and we love having grandma (Bebe) around all the time! Matt also has one sister, who lives just across town with her family. We spend most holidays with them and love getting together for family time, food, and fun. Matt’s dad and step-mom live nearby as well, and they can’t wait to be grandparents again! His oldest nephew lives nearby with his wife and two-year-old son, who is very excited to have a new playmate!
Megan comes from a large extended family on both sides. She has one sister, who lives in South Dakota and has a beautiful family, including three kids; they live just down the street from Megan’s mother. Megan’s dad and stepmom live in Oklahoma and love coming to visit us and sometimes even vacation with us to warm, sunny places! Megan is one of 30 cousins on both sides of her family, and every few years, they all have a large Slovakian family reunion in Pennsylvania. Between all the cousins, amusements parks, swimming pools, laughter, and food, we always have more fun than the last time we got together!
What Led Us To Adoption
Megan has always had a heart for adoption and has had such joy co-parenting Matt’s girls for the last eight years. We are over-the-moon excited to be given the opportunity to grow our family through the gift of adoption and to bring the missing piece of our family home. Megan’s grandparents were foster parents and adoptive parents, and they had a huge impact on her growing up. We’ve also seen the boundless joy and special bond that adoption can bring to a family through Matt’s sister, who has adopted three children. Your baby will have a circle of love and support from family members who can truly relate to every aspect of your child’s journey.
