We are enormously grateful that you would consider us to be the loving adoptive parents of your child.
We are pleased to introduce ourselves to you here, in the hopes that these words and pictures will show you who we are and how we plan to provide the best life possible for your child.
We are excited to welcome a child into our home with unconditional love!
We have so many ideas about how his or her life will take shape, including great schools, music lessons and sports, but most importantly we will raise a child who is independent, courageous and confident. We promise to dedicate every day to providing a strong, healthy and supportive place to grow and become whoever he or she wants to be.
Thank you for the opportunity to share this journey with you, and to create a wonderful life for your child that will complete our loving family.
We met on a blind date more than 10 years ago and have been inseparable ever since. We celebrated our love with friends and family by getting married in 2013.
Jorge grew up in Houston where he studied drama and theatre which led to his studies in Theatre Management at DePaul University in Chicago, where he also learned that he hated the winters! His artistic background infuses every aspect of his life and has led to his current career in visual merchandising for a national retailer.
Michael grew up in Dallas but has lived throughout Texas, including Austin and Houston. He has an MBA from SMU and works in finance but also has a passion for helping non-profit organizations.
Together, we have vacationed throughout North America and Europe. In our spare time, we love live music, trying new restaurants and seeing plays and musicals at the local Performing Arts Center. We have two distinct personalities, but we bring balance to one another. We truly enjoy each other’s company and confidently call ourselves best friends.
We have a beautiful home thanks to Jorge’s great style, and together we try to fill it with laughter. We think we’re both pretty funny, and our dog Ernie, and our cat, Bella definitely play along. We both love holidays and Jorge decorates for each season.
We live in a quiet tree-lined neighborhood in a big city, so there is always something fun to do nearby. When the weather is nice we’re in the backyard; if not, we might go catch a movie nearby.
Our Extended Family
With Jorge and Michael, you couldn’t ask for a more diverse group of family members. Jorge’s family hails from Cuba, and they take great pride in their history and traditions. Michael’s family were all born and raised in Texas, which comes with big Texan personality. They are opinionated and independent, but always family-focused and willing to stick up for each other no matter what.
While our extended family doesn’t live in town, we are just a car ride away from all of them. We get to see everyone several times a year. It is very important for both of us to spend time at the holidays with our families. Both families love to celebrate together, so we are certain that they will proudly participate in all of our family’s milestones.
What Led Us To Adoption
We have wanted to grow our family for a while now, and we believe adoption is the best way for us to do so. We’ve had several friends adopt children and can see how much joy and fulfillment it has brought to all of their lives. Michael’s friend recently adopted a beautiful baby girl. Jorge has an adopted cousin who recently graduated high school and is starting college. We have seen these remarkable situations first-hand and we know how great adoption can be for the child, the birthparents and adoptive parents.
