Dear Expectant Mother,
We cannot tell you how much the opportunity to become parents means to us. The journey has been difficult and we realize that it is for you as well. We would like to take the remainder of this journey together and we are so thankful for the strength and courage of your decision that makes this a possibility. We have open hearts and so much love to give. We are so grateful for the opportunity to share our story with you.
Mike and I have been married for nine years. We met in a business law class and our friendship grew into a relationship and then marriage. We are both fortunate to work full time jobs, myself at General Mills 5 years and Mike at Otto Vending for 18 years, that allow us flexibility for family and vacation.
We enjoy traveling together and making a home for our four dogs and foster children. We have been in our home for nine years and the neighborhood has proven to be amazing for dogs and children. Outside of the home, we enjoy taking walks at the many local parks, going to the movies, the dog park, and being involved in the kids school events.
The perks of our neighborhood are definitely the low traffic, dead end street, friendly neighbors, and great space for walks, exercise, bike riding, and a huge yard for play. Our four dogs, three adopted through a rescue foundation, love the yard and neighborhood. They do wonderfully with children and have been exposed to children of all ages, including our twenty-month old nephew; since he was an infant.
Our Family Traditions
We have a very large family, rooted in traditions. Every holiday is a unique celebration and includes so many people that a venue must be arranged to hold us all. The size of our family keeps us very involved in each other's lives and there is always a helping hand. This has proven to be even more true as my mom passed away in January and the family, especially my aunts have stepped up to be readily on deck. Family is so essential and so many memories are rooted in family vacations, holidays, and other family fun celebrations.
What Led Us To Adoption
My husband and I knew we wanted a family right away and began trying shortly after our wedding in 2008. These eight years have been full of love and faith but we have also experienced many ups and downs through our fertility journey. We knew we had much love to give and opened our home to fostering children, four years ago. We have been so blessed to be able to open our home and hearts to children and have found strength and an ever-determined hope to have a family of our own. We have learned so much through our journey about love, family, and hope. The opportunity to adopt is an affirmation of all of these lessons.
