You are an incredible woman. Words cannot begin to express the gratitude and admiration we feel for you. Your decision is not an easy one and we are grateful that you are considering us to welcome your child into our home. Though we have not yet met, we are in awe of your selflessness, courage, and love.
We sincerely hope that the information we have provided gives you a glimpse into who we are as people and as a family. Raising a child would be our greatest honor and joy available in this life. This is a responsibility that we do not take lightly. To you, we promise that your child will never feel a shortage of love. Your child will never have a need unmet. He or she will be afforded countless opportunities and will be free to pursue his or her dreams. He or she will be encouraged to see this wonderful world and taught to appreciate the many cultures and people who share it with us. There will be lots of laughter and lots of joy. Your child will experience the joys of a large extended family full of love and support. And, we promise that he or she will forever know of your unconditional love.
Thank you so much for considering us. We look forward to meeting you.
We first met in college and have been together since. We married in Boston in 2008 under a Christmas tree in Boston Commons park. Brian is a veterinary cardiologist and Mike works in software sales. Whether we are boating, SCUBA diving, skiing, hiking, or just strolling, we enjoy being outdoors and spend a great deal of time outside.
We feel that the best way to appreciate other cultures and this wonderful world we all share is to get out and explore it. Some of our favorite destinations include Iceland, Paris, London, Alaska, Hawaii, Colorado, and Montana. Mike is a licensed private pilot and enjoys seeing the world from above. Brian is a Master and Rescue SCUBA diver and is working on earning his pilot certificate as well.
We are fortunate to call northwestern Washington State home. We are surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery in the world with access to some of the best schools, outdoor activities, and music and art venues in the country. Our home has 4 bedrooms and is located in a quiet, rural neighborhood with a large secluded yard. We also have two small dogs – a sweet Jack Russell Terrier named Chip and a Papillion princess named Suda.
Our Family Traditions
Family is not defined by blood – it is defined by love. We are truly blessed with a large extended family made up of not only relatives, but also outstanding friends and an endless supply of love. Brian is the middle of three children and Mike is the middle of eight. With over 20 nieces and nephews and nine siblings between us, family is an important part of our lives and we are excited to expand our family.
While we visit with family and friends throughout the year, the holidays are a special opportunity to get together. A different family member hosts Thanksgiving each year. Family members join from around the country. We had the joy of hosting Thanksgiving two years ago. We also enjoy another tradition of spending Christmas/New Years at the family cabin. This is a great opportunity for some quality family time in the quiet, secluded mountains of Colorado.
What Led Us To Adoption
Mike comes from a very large family with many nieces and nephews and has always dreamed of being a dad. While Brian’s family is much smaller, family has always been an integral part of his life and starting a family is a dream of his own. Though family has always been an important part of our lives, and although starting a family of our own is difficult, we believe adoption is the best choice for us to make our dreams come true.
