Thank you. Thank you for your bravery. Your sacrifice. Your selflessness. And thank you for taking the time to read my profile.
As you embark on this journey to find an adoptive family for your baby, please know that I do not take your journey for granted, because I can’t say that I know what you are going through. But please know that if you choose me to go on this journey with you, I promise to love and support you and your baby. And I promise to be open to any level of communication you would like to have. Your baby will grow up knowing your love and courage.
So you’re probably thinking, “I’m just not sure if he’s the one, he’s a single guy.” But I want you to know that if you choose me, I will be a devoted father to your baby. And we will have the love and support of the village that is my family and close friends. This village includes strong women and men that are educators, doctors, actors, psychologists, writers, public health administrators, just to name a few. This village and I will teach your child about compassion, social justice, respect for self and others, and how to love unconditionally. It is this village that has loved and strengthened me my whole life, and that carries me on their shoulders in this adoption journey. So please know that I am not doing this alone. Your baby will have a wonderful life, filled with stability, culture, education, happiness…and lots and lots of love. I promise you that.
I was born and raised in Arizona but now call California home. I have a rewarding 20-year career as a college administrator where I develop and manage programs to help low-income and disadvantaged students pursue and acquire a college education. In my spare time, I keep the creative side of my soul happy by acting, playwriting and attending the theatre. I feel theatre and performance are very transformative and allow people to tell their wonderful stories. I enjoy being active and spending time with my family and friends.
I live in the heart of one of the best cities in California, on a tree-lined street, with friendly diverse families and great schools. I have a spacious two bedroom apartment in a historic 1920s building that has been restored to retain its old world charm. What I love about living in the city core is that I’m close to museums, theatre, parks and beaches. And my home is only six miles from work, so my work and home communities are one and the same.
My Extended Family
I am extremely blessed to be surrounded by wonderful family and close friends. I am an only child that was raised by a loving mother and father. Unfortunately, my father passed away when I was a teenager, but that forged a bond between my mom and I that is unbreakable. Even though she lives in a different city, we talk all the time and visit each other on a regular basis. We have a tradition of “Mom & Me” vacations. Our favorite trips so far have been Hawaii and New York City. And we ALWAYS spend Christmas together. I have a large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins and I am the proud godfather to three of my cousin’s children.
Coming from a Mexican/Latino culture, family is very important. My family has taught me the meaning of unconditional love, especially when life gets messy. It is through their love that I was able to leave home, go to college, get my degrees, advance in my career and have the wonderful experiences that have made me the man I am today.
What Led Me To Adoption
I have always known that I wanted to be a dad. After researching surrogacy and adoption, I realized that my heart wanted to be a father, not necessarily to have a biological child, and that is when I committed to adoption. I have planned and prepared for many years to be at this point in my life to do the adoption process. I know I have the stability, patience, unconditional love, and family support to be an amazing father to your baby.
