Dear Expectant Mother,
We could not be more overjoyed that you are taking a peek at our profile. Your decision to go through the adoption process and give us the opportunity to be parents means more to us than we could ever possibly express.
This child will be surrounded by so much, love, care, compassion, and understanding. Our friends and family are incredibly supportive and dedicated to ensuring this child has every opportunity to live up to her or his full potential. It is our intent to provide a home filled with faith that is supportive of the child’s spiritual exploration.
From the bottom of our hearts we say thank you for considering this selfless act.
It’s hard for us to believe, but we have been together for ten years. Four years ago, we exchanged vows and got married in our church before our friends and family. After several years as a business development manager for a large restaurant group, Rickey is now director of fundraising for a university. He also choreographs high school dance teams part time. Aaron is a human resources director for a graduate school and a part-time mascot for a professional sports team. We enjoy traveling, boating, playing volleyball, going to the theater, and visiting with family.
We live in a large two bedroom, two bathroom condo in a diverse and active neighborhood in a world-class city. Our sweet and playful puppy Cinnamon loves meeting the other families and dogs living nearby during our walks. We are close to schools, parks, the beach, restaurants and a Major League Baseball stadium. The park across the street from our home is constantly bustling with families.
Our Extended Family
Combined, we have four siblings, four nephews, three nieces, and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. This big, beautiful family makes vacations, gatherings, and holidays ridiculously fun. Our families are constantly gathering for birthdays, baptisms, graduations, and weddings. Each year, we rotate Christmas and Thanksgiving between our families and can never seem to get enough time with them. Aaron's paternal grandparents go all out for Christmas, so much so, that Santa makes a special stop at their house on Christmas Eve. Easter is typically spent on our own, creating new family traditions, whether that be a trip across the country or a special dinner with close friends. Our favorite tradition has to be birthday week, which stretches from Aaron’s birthday to Rickey’s with celebrations throughout.
What Led Us To Adoption
It has been obvious to us since the very beginning of our relationship that we were destined to be dads. We are blessed to be proud uncles and godparents to some amazing children, and we know we are ready to step into parenthood. Rickey has many years of experience teaching kids to dance, and Aaron has been tutoring kids in afterschool programs. Together, we have been church youth group leaders for the past two years. We love working with children and look forward to raising kids of our own.
