Dear Expectant Mother,
We honor your brave choice to consider adoption, and are grateful you have considered us to raise your child. We promise to make a wonderful life for your baby and give him or her a loving home and family, with endless love, hugs, kisses, and laughter. Your child will have many opportunities to pursue his or her dreams.
Rob was adopted by caring parents that offered him an amazing life, and we want to share the same opportunities with our children. We were very blessed to adopt our daughter in 2013. However, we feel our family is not yet complete. Now, with God’s Grace, we are eager to welcome a new baby into our home, and our daughter, as well. She frequently asks when her baby brother or sister will arrive.
Our education and careers have prepared us to be excellent parents. We have both been very lucky to have the best education, including undergraduate and graduate degrees. We will provide an excellent education and fun, enriching opportunities to our children. We enjoy family adventures, including travel, children’s museums, zoos, and the beach. We look forward to sharing these and others with your baby, guiding him or her through every joy and obstacle that life brings, and encouraging them to explore what most inspires them. We can offer your baby tremendous amounts of love, a safe happy home, and lots of fun adventures along the way.
We met through a mutual friend and fell in love right away. Six months after meeting, we were engaged. Ali has a master’s degree in Education and spent time as an elementary teacher before becoming a stay-at-home mom. She loves to teach yoga, paint, paddle-board, and most of all, spend time with our daughter. They enjoy attending music classes, visiting the playground, making tea parties, and having playdates. Rob is a university coach who used to own and direct his own youth swim program. He enjoys running, swimming, fitness, and being a dad. His flexible work schedule allows him to participate in many family activities, like taking our daughter to a weekly swim class. We also love the beach, traveling, hiking, exercising, and going to museums.
We live about an hour from two major cities, in an area of beautiful, green rolling hills. We have a sunny, four-bedroom house with tall ceilings, and we recently added a playroom downstairs. It is filled with many fun toys, puzzles, a kitchen set, Barbie dream house, and lots of books. Our neighborhood is friendly and filled with tons of kids. We live close to beautiful parks, a beautiful swimming pool, a library, and a science museum. Our community has some of the best schools in the state; our elementary school is within walking distance, and it offers a special language immersion program. Last year, we adopted two kittens, Gelato and Biscotti. They are always purring, and they love to snuggle and play.
Our Extended Family
Our extended family is very large and close. We love to celebrate holidays together, such as having a big Thanksgiving meal at Rob’s mom’s every year, with lots of Italian food, pumpkin pie, and a house full of family. Then, we go to the beach to have a Santa breakfast, go on carousel rides, and watch the yearly Santa parade down Main Street.
At Christmas,, we invite family and friends for a Christmas Eve open house party. Just before Christmas, Ali’s sister invites all of the little cousins to her home to decorate gingerbread houses. There are lots of little cousins from both sides of the family that will grow up with our children!
Other holiday traditions we love are trick-or-treating and Easter. Trick-or-treating is so much fun in our neighborhood. All of the neighbors decorate their homes. Parents dress up to hand out candy, and we have a party for our friends. After trick-or-treating, everyone warms up with a bowl of Ali’s chili. At Easter time, we also travel to favorite beach hotel where we participate in an Easter egg hunt and have brunch with the Easter bunny.
Our Adoption Story
We always knew that we wanted to be parents and that adoption should be a part of our family plan. We both agree that being a parent is the best job each of us has ever had, and it makes life complete! We would feel so blessed and honored to complete our family through adoption. Rob and his sister were adopted, and since Rob understands what it is like to be adopted, we can be super-supportive adoptive parents. Our daughter was adopted, and we are so excited to provide a loving home to your baby, too.
