We are writing this letter to let you know how much we respect and honor your brave choice to think about adoption. We are so grateful you have considered us. If you chose us, we promise to make a fantastic life for your baby and shower him or her with tremendous amounts of love and kisses, silliness, laughter and fun.
We love each other very much. It has always been our hearts desire to start a family and share the love we have for one another with our children. Rob was adopted by very caring, supportive parents. They offered him and his sister the greatest life they could have ever have imagined. We were very blessed to adopt our beautiful daughter, Gisella in 2013. However, we feel our family is not complete. Now, with the grace of God, we would like to extend our love, warmth and the joy of our family to welcome a new baby into our home.
We value education and look to provide a good education and many enriching and fun opportunities to our children. We enjoy doing many exciting, fun things as a family including travel, children’s museums, zoos, the beach, and of course Disney World. We eagerly look forward to sharing these and other adventures with your baby and creating wonderful memories.
We look forward to sharing bedtime routines like reading many, many, many books to your baby and then showering him or her with good night hugs and kisses.
Our daughter is eager to be a big sister and we look forward to watching her share her caring and kind heart with her new brother or sister.
We will love and guide our children through every joy and obstacle that life brings and will help our children develop an independence that makes them successful, rooted in the foundation of family and friendships.
In conclusion, we feel that we would like to offer your baby a lifetime of kisses, hugs and a wonderful world. We see your baby as the most glorious gift. So, we promise to raise an honest, healthy, loving child who understands who they are and how much they are loved.
We will support them at every stage, every challenge and every success!
Ali was a teacher and is currently a stay-at-home mom to our three-year-old adopted daughter who was also adopted at birth. Ali teaches yoga and enjoys painting, and paddle boarding.
Rob is a university swim coach and enjoys running, swimming, and fitness.
Together, we love the beach and go as often as we can. We also love to travel, hike, and run. We enjoy being in New York City or Philadelphia seeing concerts, having dinner, or going to museums.
We met through mutual friends from college and we were engaged only six months after meeting because we both knew that we had found the right person. We have always known we wanted to adopt, and agree that being a parent is the best job each of us has ever had and it makes life complete!
We live in a sunny, open four-bedroom, four and a half bath house. Our neighborhood is fun and friendly, with lots of kids and excellent schools within walking distance. We have beautiful parks, a great swimming pool, library, and a science museum very close by.
This past fall, we adopted two kittens, Gelato and Biscotti. They are always purring. They love to snuggle and play, but can also be found involved in a super high-speed chase around the house.
Our Extended Family
Our extended family is very large and close.
At Easter time, we travel to our favorite beach hotel where we participate in an Easter egg hunt. We have brunch with the Easter bunny. We also spend time with Eileen and her husband, the best friend of Ali’s mom, who has become a second mother to Ali and surrogate grandmother to our daughter.
For Fourth-of-July we like to meet our cousins at the beach and watch the fire works.
Halloween is a big event in our neighborhood. All of the neighbors decorate their homes. Parents dress up to hand out candy. We have a party for our friends and love to all go trick-or-treating together. Rob’s mom and aunt hand out candy, as we take our cousins and friends out to trick-or-treat with all the children. Afterwards, everyone warms up with a bowl of Ali’s white chicken chili.
We celebrate a big Thanksgiving meal with lots of family and friends at Rob’s mother’s house with turkey, pasta, home made cheesecake and pumpkin pie. Right afterward, we travel to the beach and kick off the holidays with family by having breakfast with Santa, riding the choo-choo, and carousel and bundling–up for the yearly Santa parade down the main street with cocoa and cookies in hand.
To prepare for Christmas, all the little cousins get together at Ali’s sisters house to make and decorate ginger bread houses.
Every year, we invite our family and friends for Christmas Eve at our house. We love to have a make-your-own cocoa bar. Christmas is always at Rob’s mother’s house with a huge Italian dinner including lasagna. There is always a house full of family and great smelling food.
What Led Us To Adoption
We adopted our daughter, at birth, in 2013. We were so privileged to meet with our daughter’s birthmother prior to her birth and were over the moon excited when she chose us. We felt so blessed to be at the hospital and hold our daughter shortly after her birth. We maintain a semi-open adoption providing yearly letters and pictures to the birth family through the agency.
To be consistent for both children, we are looking to have a similar type of semi-open adoption for our second child.
Because Rob and his sister were adopted, we knew from the start of our relationship that we wanted to adopt. We would feel so honored and blessed to complete our family though adoption. We feel that because Rob understands what it is like to be adopted, we are uniquely qualified to be extra-nurturing and super supportive adoptive parents.
