Dear Expectant Mother,
We can’t even begin to imagine the variety of emotions you are feeling right now. We would like you to know how incredibly selfless your decision to consider adoption is. We admire your courage and strength and promise to instill these qualities within our own family values. Your child will know just how brave you are. It is our wish that you will find comfort in knowing that we will love and cherish your child for the rest of our lives. We have created a home filled with love, happiness, support, education, compassion for others, laughter, and of course lots of big hugs.
We cannot wait to share the love we have for each other, as well as our love for life and adventure with your child. We promise to be there for them through every stage of life, unwavering in our love and support as he/she walks their path. It would be our greatest joy, honor and blessing to welcome your child into our family with open arms.
We have been together for 6 wonderful years and married for 3 years. We were set up on a blind date by mutual friends and met at a local mom and pop pizza shop, where we shared a pizza and talked about our interests and dreams.
Michael is an international flight attendant for a major airline, and his career has given us an opportunity of a lifetime to travel the world and see so many amazing places. The flexibility in his work scheduled allows for him to pursue his passion in volunteering with children who live with debilitating diseases. In his words, “I love seeing the gleam of self-achievement in a child’s eyes when they have conquered something they once thought to be impossible. Nothing brings me greater joy in life than making a difference in a child’s life.”
Scott is a senior manager of finance and treasury for an international company. He loves running, biking, and cooking and baking for friends and family. Scott was raised on a large ranch in Oklahoma with plenty of cows, horses and dogs. He is no stranger to hard work and still maintains his small-town values which have provided him with a strong sense of family and community. In his words, “growing up in a small town taught me to be thankful for all things, big and small, and to not take anything for granted. It’s sharing experiences with neighbors and childhood friends and cheering for one another just as you would family because essentially that’s what they are, an extended part of your family.”
We live in a beautiful lakeside, gated community in Texas with our dog, Braxton. The neighbors know us by name, and the neighborhood kids love to ride their bikes to the large playground that is within walking distance of our home. We fill our formal dining room almost every Sunday with friends and family as we enjoy dinner and some of Scott’s famous cheesecake. We look forward to waking up to mornings where your child is jumping on our bed and excited to start the day. Our adventures may include trips to the zoo, the local museums or stopping off at a nearby park to cool off with some ice cream. We can’t wait for days spent playing in the backyard, chasing Braxton around and dancing about as we try to catch bubbles. We can't wait for the day when our home is filled with the sound of children.
Our Extended Family
Michael is the eldest of four children. He is a loving uncle to two nephews, ages 3 and 1. He is one of 40-plus cousins, which makes for an exciting holiday season. Scott is the youngest of two boys, and he is an uncle to two nephews, ages 19 and 12. He is one of 26 cousins. He loves traveling to Oklahoma to spend time in his hometown, which is so small it does not even have a stoplight. Both of our families are so excited at the possibility of joining us on future vacations to Disney World, wearing our Mickey ears on the plane, and bouncing with joy. We can’t wait to your child's smile grow from ear-to-ear as they meet Mickey and Minnie for the first time.
There is no shortage of love and laughter among our family and friends. Any one of them can always count on an open door and an invitation to Sunday dinner at our home with some sort of sports program on the TV. The kids are always in eye-view, so we can see them playing in the playroom or chasing each other in the backyard.
What Led Us To Adoption
Even prior to meeting each other, our hearts were always set on adoption. Having a family was one of the many topics during our first date. This experience has truly strengthened our bond with each other. Our vulnerability, love, and commitment to one another has only deepened our hope to grow our family. We realize we are so very blessed and have so much to share, including a home filled with open arms, love and guidance for your child. We are so grateful that our paths have led us to yours in this amazing adoption journey.
