Dear Expectant Mother,
I cannot imagine the many emotions you are experiencing as you make an adoption plan. I understand this is a complicated decision and respect your decision immensely.
As a potential adoptive parent, I promise to provide a child with a life full of unconditional love, emotional and financial support, a safe stable home and a good education. I look forward to sharing traditions, my love for animals and a sense of adventure. There will always be a place in the child’s life for his/her birth mother if that is her desire. There are family traditions from both the birth mother and from me that can be shared with a child. I’ve dreamed of the day I will take a child to Christmas in January, on a birthday road trip to the zoo and to college baseball games.
Whether or not you select me, I want to say thank you for considering me in your adoption plan. If I am the adoptive mother you select, I will be eternally grateful for your gift. I promise to do my best to nurture and support the child so they grow up to be a respectful and successful adult.
Thank you for taking the time to read my profile.
I am a caring and compassion individual that loves to make others laugh with sarcasm and humor. I am a Customer Service Coordinator for an architectural aluminum company. In my company, I’ve had the opportunity to be a global leader for an Employee Resource Group that is committed to promoting Inclusion and Diversity. I joined the ERG in order to make a difference for others. I have also volunteered for organizations in my local community such as the Equality Center as a Peer Mentor, the Children’s Shelter, and the Animal Shelter. I enjoy a variety of interests including real estate, movies, and live theatre, photography and spending time with friends and family. I have a passion for traveling because it provides me with new experiences. Recently I traveled back-to-back weekends for my birthday and attended my first NHL hockey game when the Dallas Stars played in Tulsa and my first Kansas City Royals home baseball game.
In 2010, I was fortunate to purchase my first home. My home is located in a quiet family friendly subdivision in Northwest Arkansas. It is located within minutes of parks, museums and in a nationally recognized school district. When I was house hunting, I always kept in mind needing space for the family I wanted to have in the future. I share my home with my three rescue fur babies – my two dogs and one cat (Miley, Charlie, and Allie) that fill my home with love and laughter. The addition of a baby would make my home and family complete!
My Extended Family
I am blessed beyond words to have my family as my support system in life. My parents live in Texas while my brother and sister-in-law live in Missouri. Although I have only one sibling, I have a large circle of close friends in Northwest Arkansas that I consider family as well. My family loves and supports me unconditionally and will share that same support and love with my future family.
Not only is family important to me but so are family traditions. Road trips are taken on birthdays and holidays are spent with family and friends while cooking out, laughing, talking and being thankful for the time together. This year I traveled two weekends to celebrate my birthday. The first weekend was to Kansas City to visit the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, a Royals’ baseball game and the KC Zoo. The following weekend I traveled to a Stars’ hockey game on my birthday. Weekends like these provide priceless memories.
Christmas with my family has its own special traditions. Since Christmas is the busiest time of year, it can be difficult to find time for the family from three states to gather. One of our more unique traditions is what we refer to as 'Christmas in January'. We have 2-3 days when my parents, brother, sister-in-law and I can celebrate together as a family. My parents cook non-traditional Christmas meals such as my mom’s homemade enchiladas or my dad’s breakfast quiche. Our competitive sides come out during games like Spades and Chinese Checkers. All year long I’m excited for the next ‘Christmas in January.’ I am thankful to celebrate on December 25th with extended family in Arkansas and then again in January with my parents, brother, and sister-in-law. I look forward to making new family traditions and sharing my family’s current traditions with a child.
What Led Me To Adoption
I have always known I wanted to be a mother. Adoption has been in my heart for as long as I can remember; therefore the decision to adopt was one of the easiest decisions I have ever made. I have seen friends build their families with adoption and the joy adoption has brought into their lives. My friends and family encourage and support my desire to adopt. With their encouragement and support as well as witnessing my friends’ happiness as a result of adoption, I have chosen adoption to make my dreams of a family come true!
