There are no words that could come close to describe our appreciation for the gift of a child. The courage and selfless act you are displaying at this moment can never be measured. While we cannot comprehend all that you are going through, we certainly honor your journey and have nothing but the utmost respect for you during this emotional time.
We will make sure your baby is given love, support and encouragement to become the best they dream to be. Know that your child will be raised in a home that values everyone, and we strongly believe that everyone is important. Their life will be surrounded with plenty of laughter and love during times of celebration, and they will receive plenty of comfort in times of need. Please be reassured your child will never be alone during life’s tough challenges.
Your child will not only receive love and support from us but also will receive this wonderful love and strong support from our remarkable family and friends. We are honored and beyond grateful that you have chosen to learn more about our family and us.
We first met in the summer of 2010 and over the next 4 years our relationship and love grew. Together we planned vacations, celebrated birthdays, spent our holidays with each other’s families, and on New Year’s Eve in Time Square 2013, we became engaged.
We married in May of 2015, honeymooned in Hawaii for two weeks and returned home to celebrate with family and friends. William works as an employment specialist helping individuals with barriers find employment within the community. Eric works in the IT department for a local university. William loves gardening, entertaining, and cooking. Eric enjoys home improvement, photography and anything related to technology.
Together we enjoy the outdoors, traveling, playing board games with family and friends, biking and watching movies.
Our Home is located in a new development in a growing suburb just minutes away from the largest city in Iowa. Our two-story, 3 bedroom home was built in 2008. Despite the typical dining and living room, there is also a huge family room and an exercise room. We also have a large fenced in back yard and deck.
The neighborhood is quiet, safe, and filled with children. Our neighbors are extremely supportive, with plenty of evenings visiting and enjoying each other’s company.
Our community has excellent schools that are the best in the state, plenty of parks, great recreational facilities and numerous walking/bike trails. We recently welcomed Wrigley, a chocolate lab puppy, into our family.
Our Extended Family
William comes from a large family where he is the youngest of 5 children, with two brothers and two sisters. His brothers and sisters played a major role how he values family; he has a wonderful relationship with them all. Along with 4 siblings, and their spouses, William has 13 nieces and nephews each of whom we are very proud of. With that many family members the holidays are always a special time where we create lifelong memories. Growing up family vacations meant road trips visiting extended family members and we have been able to continue that tradition by opening our home to our family to visit for their summer vacations and road trips.
Eric’s family is made up of him and his two older sisters. Eric’s sisters have been major role models in his life and he has a wonderful relationship with both of them. Both of his sisters are married and he has two nephews, two nieces and a third niece on the way. Eric and his sisters always get together to celebrate their birthdays. Eric also has a family tradition of taking part in a weeklong bicycle ride (RAGBRAI) across the state with them both, this tradition has grown to now include William.
Our Family Traditions
Three years ago William and Eric began a new tradition centered around Thanksgiving. We now host our Thanksgiving, with both families coming together. What makes this tradition even more special is that everyone sits down at one table, and the food is served family style.
What Led Us To Adoption
Since the first few dates our conversations centered around our values: the most important being that of family. We both agreed that being parents was something that we knew would be in our future. Being family focused we have always been surrounded by our loving family, amazing friends and have been given wonderful support along the way. So when we began discussing how our love, patience, and values have enriched our lives, everything came together perfectly. With all of this in mind, we are able to create a strong home environment for any child. Now that we have accomplished our own personal goals, we are committed to achieving our goal of starting a family.
