Dear Expectant Mother,
We want to first thank you for even taking the time to click on our profile. We can only imagine what you're going through and the fact that you're taking this journey is something we greatly appreciate. Considering adoption has got to be a very hard one and picking a family for your child has to be even harder. We can only hope that our future birth mother will find comfort in knowing that her child is in a safe, loving environment with two people that will cherish her child like their own.
We both value education, learning about different cultures, diversity, traveling and new experiences. We want to provide that as well to a child an opportunity to be loved, learn, creatively express themselves, and a chance to experience a variety of things that life has to offer. Again we want to say to the expectant mother, that adoption is a truly selfless decision and we would forever be grateful if chosen.
We have a lot of love to give and we want to give that love to somebody that wants to have that love given. We promise to offer your child a safe and loving home where they will be loved and cherished.
We’re a very loving, fun, goal oriented family. We both work in healthcare, specifically Behavioral health, which is actually how we met. Alex had just graduated and was about to start her career as an RN. Jamara was established in her career as a Mental Health Clinician but considering going to school for nursing. Alex used that fact to ask her out on a date, it worked!! Both growing up on Chicago's south side we already had a lot in common. Found out we graduated from the same school and lived in the same neighborhood, small world. From that first date, both knew we were going to be something. We're not just wives, we're best friends, soul mates and forever partners. We do everything together: hike, zip line, travel, canoe and just simply enjoy being outdoors. Together we make any and everything we do fun and memorable.
We stay in a quiet upscale neighborhood near the heart of the city. We are less than an hour from some of the best mountain views and waterfalls. We are very close to schools that are ranked in the top as far as academics. We are also close parks, theaters, museums and within walking distance to public transportation. Of all the things to do, our favorite is hiking with Marlie our friendly little chihuahua. She's definitely an important member of our family. Alex had Marlie since she was 8 weeks old now she is 9 years old. Jamara can honestly say she has truly become a dog lover and cannot wait for another addition to our family.
Our Extended Family
We don't really have a huge family but that does not stop the huge amount of love and support they give. Alex’s family was instantly drawn to Jamara when they met her and she was very drawn to them as well.
Jamara was never really close to family growing up but that changed when Alex and her family came along. Jamara was immediately embraced and treated like a member of our family since the beginning. Alex’s sister and Jamara are very close and love going out whenever she is in town. Having fun with activities that you couldn't pay Alex to do.
When Alex’s parents come we like taking her dad on hikes and other outdoor adventures. As a family, we all like to make it a point to see each other around holidays and birthdays.
Even though there's miles of distance between us all, we always try to talk and visit but even with the absence we can feel the love as if we were there. Just like we would embrace and love your child as our own we know our family would absolutely do the same.
What Led Us To Adoption
We've been wanting to expand our family. Being in the LGBTQ community adoption has always come up as an option for us. We have been lucky enough to have met people on both ends, those that have adopted and those that were adopted. Both parties were grateful, felt blessed, and described adoption as a wonderful experience. We want to have that wonderful experience of going through adoption and being able to start our family. We've been led to adoption on hopes and prayers that we and everyone involved can have a wonderful experience. We will continue to pray and hope that a birth mother gives us a chance to provide their child with loads of love, a ton of fun, and unlimited opportunity.
