Dear Expectant Mother,
It is with honor, love, and incredible respect that we write this letter to you. Thank you so very much for considering us as parents for your child. I’m sure the decision to consider an adoption plan is not an easy one, but we want you to know what an amazing blessing it would be for us to be the parents of your child.
We believe in balance, understanding, and unconditional love. We want to raise our children to reflect the strong core values that we were both raised with. We promote kindness and equality to all, we welcome diversity, and we share an affinity for education, open-mindedness, and independence. Above anything else, we intend to raise our children in a home full of love, laughter, and affection.
We promise to provide your child with a loving, nurturing, and supportive environment to prosper in. Your child will be raised with another adopted sibling and with a grandmother who was also adopted. We hope these connections will provide comfort and a deeper understanding that we find him or her so special. We will never be able to say thank you enough. This gift would not be possible without you, and for that, we will be forever grateful.
We met through mutual friends in 2007 and tied the knot in 2012. We complement one another entirely. We are beautiful opposites yet find ourselves rooted in a secure foundation built on trust and common values, interests, and goals. Brittany studied nursing in college while playing collegiate ice hockey. She is a Registered Nurse and is currently finishing her master’s degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Shana pursued a mass communications degree while playing collegiate softball. She went on to become a certified massage therapist but now focuses on her job as a stay-at-home mom. We enjoy attending shows such as Cirque Du Soleil and sporting events. As a family, we love days at the beach spent splashing in the water and digging in the sand. As our son has gotten older, it has been fun to see him share in our enjoyment of hockey and baseball games.
We live in a lovely two-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath townhouse in a quiet and gated community in Southern California. Our neighborhood is safe, friendly, and welcoming, and our community has numerous pools, a playground, a gym, and a dog run. We also frequent the local parks, splash pads, and indoor play gyms. Our dog, Jasmine, comes along with us for our walks and activities. She is a sweet and gentle dog who loves children and playing fetch. We are also a short drive from beaches, a baseball stadium, and Disneyland. We cannot wait to welcome your child on our many adventures to our favorite parks and on our summer evening walks. Brixton is so excited to be a big brother.
Our Extended Family
Since the majority of Brittany’s family is in California and Shana’s family is on the East Coast, our time with each side varies widely. We try to get to the East Coast to visit Shana’s family as much as possible. It’s rural, and time seems to slow down there, which is a nice change of pace. When we visit Pennsylvania, we spend most of our time relaxing at the lake with bonfires, family dinners, fishing, and kayaking. We also spend time on the family farm, hiking through favorite waterfall sites, and catching up with friends.
Every summer, we make at least one river trip to Brittany’s parent’s second home in Arizona. We have a lot of fun enjoying everything that Lake Mojave has to offer, including boating, wakeboarding, waterskiing, jet-skiing, hiking, and just hanging out with family. We also frequent Mammoth in the winter with Brittany’s family, where we like to snowboard and relax at the cabin with good meals, playing cards, and watching movies.
Both of our families are so excited at the thought of adding another child to our family for them to embrace, love, and do all these fun activities with.
Our Adoption Story
We always knew that we wanted to adopt a child someday, but we weren’t sure when that would be. After several years of fertility challenges, we knew that adoption was the right path for us, and we were thrilled to be able to grow our family this way. In 2015 we excitedly embarked on our first adoption journey with the ultimate outcome of the birth of our son, Brixton! We are so thrilled with the decision and opportunity to adopt a child again, and we cannot wait to see what the future has in store for our growing family.
