Dear Expectant Mother,
You considering us to raise your baby means more to us than words could ever express. The amount of love that you have for your baby and his or her life is admirable. We would be so blessed and unimaginably grateful to be considered as the family given the blessing of raising your baby. We can’t wait to bring a baby into our lives and give it every ounce of love and support that we possibly can.
Part of our daily lives includes going to our son’s baseball games and tournaments, taking walks around the subdivision with our pups, and going to the St. Louis Zoo, Children’s Museum, and Science Center. We also love to travel to Illinois and Indiana to visit our families several times throughout the year. Some special activities that we can’t wait to share include baking cookies and cakes with the freedom to decorate as crazy as we see fit, even if that means sprinkles and candy on them! We enjoy every moment with our son.
With Easter around the corner and all of the small children that will be there makes us even more excited to have a new baby of our own to soon share these experiences. The egg hunt consists of over 150 eggs filled with candy and money. Watching all the children run around the yard with so much happiness and excitement really fills our hearts with joy. Having a second child participating in that fun would make it all even better. We know that our son is very excited to start helping the baby hunt eggs, to open presents at the holidays, and to teach him or her all about baseball.
We both work at the same corporate office in, Missouri. Salena is an IT Support Analyst and Cassandra is an IT Software Analyst. We’ve both been with the company for almost 11 years and foresee ourselves working here for many years to come. We met while attending college in 2002. We began our journey as best friends and that grew into a loving relationship. Our son Aidan was born in July of 2005 and changed our lives for the better in every way possible. With our love growing stronger and stronger, we got married in September 2009 in a small ceremony with our close friends and family. We still look back on that day and reminisce about all of the fun we had and consider just how blessed we are to have found one another.
Our home is a four-bedroom ranch with an open concept and vaulted ceilings. Our backyard is fenced in so the dogs can run around and play while Aidan jumps on the trampoline. We have three dogs: Iris, Zeus, and Athena. They are on the smaller side, fun-loving, and always want to cuddle on the couch. We live in a quiet subdivision filled with families and younger children. Our subdivision has activities throughout the year, such as a Fourth of July parade, BBQ’s, bounce houses for the children, and fishing competitions at the ponds. We can’t wait to take an adopted child with us to all of these events and let him or her have fun with all of the other kiddos.
Our Extended Family
We both have large families with a lot of siblings. This means that our newest addition will get more love than they know what to do with! Both of our families are so excited that we are adopting. Our parents are already buying the baby things and some of our siblings are as well. ZIf you choose us your baby is definitely going to be well taken care of and loved by everyone.
On Cassandra’s side of the family, her dad has two annual holidays that we look forward to every year. One is the huge Halloween party out by their pond. They have a cookout, bonfire, hayrides, and a spook walk. The other holiday we look forward to is Easter because we all play games outside in the yard and they have a big egg hunt for all of the kids. The eggs are filled with candy and money so the little ones enjoy every second.
On Salena’s side of the family, Christmas morning is a tradition that we always enjoy. All of her siblings and their families come over. All of us sit around the living room and open presents from everyone. It’s so much fun to get that time together uninterrupted by our everyday lives. We spend that entire day together playing games and playing with the kids’ new toys. As silly as this may sound, no one cooks that day. Instead, Dad goes and buys everyone food from Hardee’ - it’s the same every year like clockwork.
What Led Us To Adoption
We always knew we wanted to grow our family. Our son Aidan can't wait to be a big brother too! Adoption has always been near and dear to our hearts. It has always been on our minds. After weighing all of our options, and considering that Cassandra has had a hysterectomy and Salena was blessed with an organ transplant, we knew adoption was the path meant for us.
Cassandra's father was adopted. Seeing his relationship with his parents and extended adoptive family proved just how wonderful it could be. We have so much love to give another child. We will have an overwhelming amount of gratitude and love for the person that helps us get our wish of a bigger family.
