dear expectant mother

Dear Expectant Mother,

We haven’t met yet, but we are excited to get to know you if given the chance. We are so happy you’re considering an adoption plan and are potentially interested in choosing us as adoptive parents. We know adoption can be a tough decision and a difficult process, but we want you to know we’re ready to help you get through any tough moments ahead.

We hope our previous adoption experience provides some comfort in knowing we understand the ups and downs of adoption. None of this is easy or perfect, and that’s okay. You are making a decision with your heart and your mind, and this decision can positively impact so many people.

We're hoping for the chance to be the right adoptive parents for a special child and to welcome them into a loving home. We can’t wait to grow our family and share our love with this new child.

With love and appreciation,
Julie, Aldo & Malcolm

About Us

Julie has been in the tech industry for over 15 years helping keep people safe online, and Aldo has worked in film for 20 years and currently helps filmmakers get their movies onto PBS. When we're not working, we love to play board games and video games together, travel around the globe, go on long walks in our neighborhood, take family hikes in the nearby hills, listen to music, and watch movies. We met on an online dating site 12 years ago, and it was love at first sight when we met in person. After three years of dating, Aldo proposed at the top of our favorite park, and now we've been married for nine years. Our family grew in 2018 when we adopted our son, Malcolm. He is such a joy, and we love him so much! He is also very excited to have a brother or sister to join our loving family.

Our Home & Pets

We adopted our two cute kitties eight years ago: Betty is a loving tabby cat, and Mi-Go is a spunky tuxedo cat born with a broken tail. They live with us in our home and love going outside to watch the birds. Our backyard has a playground and lots of space to run around, and we live on a cul-de-sac where lots of kids ride bikes and play together. Our home has plenty of room for everyone to have their own space along with gathering areas for family time when we watch movies and play games. Our community has an active downtown and plenty of space to roam around out in nature and in the vineyards.

Our Extended Family

Aldo’s side of the family is Mexican and has grown up with Mexican traditions and customs. He was also raised by his Chilean aunt, who introduced him to another part of the Latin American culture. Aldo has one sister who has two children of her own, and we have been with them since their births. We like to play board games with them, spend holidays together, and have big family dinners and special themed birthday parties.

Julie’s side of the family is filled with cousins, aunts, and uncles, and they all live nearby, which means lots of visits and family time. As a family, we love finding and exploring new towns in our area, traveling to other countries, and spending time together singing karaoke and laughing. We are a close-knit family who cares for each other and are in constant communication because we’re just as much friends as we are family. Julie’s sister has a three-year-old and is expecting another baby soon. We’re looking forward to having kids the same age growing up together!

Our Adoption Story

After a few years of trying to have a biological baby, we decided to instead choose adoption. As a child, Aldo was adopted by his stepfather after his mother died, which has shaped the way he has embraced adoption and the special and different ways to make up a family. Julie had always wanted to adopt, and not being able to conceive felt like a calling to adopt. When we got our chance in 2018, we were over the moon to welcome a baby boy into our lives through adoption, and it was the best decision we’ve ever made. We can’t wait to do it again.
