We would first like to say what a special honor it is that you are viewing our profile. We can only imagine the decisions that you are facing at this time, but we are glad you are here. We are excited that something has brought us together. Our life has been led by SERENDIPITY – stumbling across good things unexpectedly. Maybe at this moment, you are experiencing serendipity too, and that is why you are reading this now.
We are a joyful, easy-going, couple. We love to laugh, explore the world, and surround ourselves with good people and good food. We have traveled around the globe. The only adventure missing in our lives is parenthood. We want to share our love, laughter, life, and hearts with a child.
We are strong believers in following our hearts and letting our hearts guide us. We want you to know that your strength is courageous and admirable to us. Just know we support you, your choices, and your heart. Our hope is that you believe in yourself and believe that you know is right for you. Follow your heart in the big decisions you are facing, and we are confident that it will lead you in the right direction, wherever that may be.
We hope that we may be your serendipity at this moment, and we look forward to the opportunity to share with you more about us and answer any questions you may have.
We promise through this journey we will be open and honest regarding anything you want to know.
May your heart guide you.
We are excited for the opportunity of our greatest adventure yet: parenthood! We have been together for 12 years and we have been married for nine. We are an active, easy-going, and silly couple who loves to experience life’s journeys with friends and family. We love exploring new places, meeting new people, and trying new things.
If you were going to choose a word to describe how we live life, it would be: serendipity – stumbling across good things unexpectedly. We have found that being open to new things has brought us many of the greatest gifts in our lives.
That is why you could say we are usually up for anything. We can’t wait to share our fun-filled lives, adventures, and hearts with a child!
We are lucky to live in a community that is surrounded by parks, foothills, and rivers, not to mention a great small city growing with diversity and culture. We are just a block away from playgrounds and the most diverse elementary school in the city.
Our beautiful home has a big backyard that is perfect for playing and relaxing with our wonderful neighbors and their children. We feed ducks in the spring, and we sit under the shade of the lilac trees in the summer. We share our home with our furry baby Paella. She is a “Chorkie,” a Chihuahua-Yorkie mix. She loves babies and is a sweet snuggle bug who can’t wait for a new brother or sister. We recently lost our Great Dane "Mayda" who was a part of our family.
Our Extended Family
Our extended family is HUGE! We are blessed with wonderful friends and family, most of whom all have children of their own. Teddy has four best friends that he grew up with that live nearby, so we are constantly surrounded by people we love. We are often referred to as Uncle Teddy and Aunt Dre. In fact, Andrea has been called Aunt Dre by her best friend’s son since he was born - he is now 18 years old and visits every summer. He isn’t blood-related, but we consider him family and we talk with him regularly. He often looks to us for guidance and advice, like his parents.
We love gatherings and having a house or yard full of kids and families. We are often the organizers of gatherings for meals, holidays, and celebrations. Our friends are like our extended family. Most of our relationships have been 20+ years or more. These people are our core and they are so excited and supportive of us adopting. They are ready for us to be parents!
What Led Us To Adoption
Adoption is our first choice in wanting to start a family! This is not our last resort. We have always known we wanted to adopt, and we have been in the adoption process for several years, having faced some tough challenges along the way. But these challenges only helped us reaffirm that being adoptive parents is the right choice for our family.
