Alicia & Alex

Family Type: Traditional
State we live in: California

dear expectant mother

We realize choosing a good family you can trust with raising your baby must be a daunting task, but we would love for you to consider us and trust that your baby would be loved, nurtured, and cared for with us.

We can’t wait for your baby to be old enough to go on his or her first ski trip. Alex is going to be the BEST teacher. He’ll teach your child not only how to ski but how to love to ski, just like his dad taught him. Taking them on their first family camping trip is going to be EPIC. They’ll go and collect wood with Grandpa, and he’ll teach them how to start their first fire so we can roast marshmallows. The beach is our happy place, so we definitely will be sharing that with your child. Alicia will teach him or her how to swim.

Both Alex’s mom and Alicia’s parents are eager to welcome their first grandchild, and they will love and spoil your baby as much as they can. We can’t wait to teach your baby they are invincible and can do ANYTHING and be ANYONE they want to be. We will equip your child with the knowledge, tools, and support they need to succeed and reach any and every goal they set.

We have a lot of love, time, and experiences we want to share with a child, and we believe adoption is the best path for us to achieve this.

About Us

Alex is an engineering technician at a local telemetry company, and Alicia is a software engineer at a company that makes unmanned air vehicles and tactical systems. We met at the most romantic of places, Home Depot—who would have guessed it? It didn’t take too long for us to fall in love. Our relationship felt very easy and comfortable, and we just fit together. We both love spending time in the outdoors, and we both place a strong value on our families. After dating for three years, we got engaged. A year later, we had a beautiful wedding with both of our very large families and a few very close friends.

Our Home & Pets

Our house is located in a great neighborhood of cul-de-sacs. We love taking walks up the green way and to our local park with our dogs at least once a day. Our dogs' names are Oliver and Sydney; they’re pretty darn cute. We spend most of our time in the kitchen; it’s also probably the largest room in our house. There’s tons of natural light, and we both love to cook and entertain. We live close to both of our families, so we often visit them for dinner or they come and have dinner here. Another thing we love about our house and the city where we live is that it has a smaller-town feel (with great hiking trails!), although we have the big city a few minutes away.

Our Extended Family

Alicia only has one brother but has a huge extended family. Both of her parents have eight or nine siblings each, so that means there are approximately 70 first cousins. Because of this, it’s ALWAYS someone's birthday. The family gets together often to celebrate something or nothing, but they’re always together, and there is always good food.

Alex has two brothers—he’s the middle child—and two older first cousins whom he grew up very close to. The family is very into sports and is very supportive of each other. We have traveled as a family as far as Utah (with matching shirts!) to support Alex’s brother at his college football game and often go to the community park to cheer on Alex’s cousins’ kids at their basketball games.

We often get together with our families for game nights with cousins, cross-country road trips with our parents, ski trips with family, and just-because BBQs, and, of course, Christmas and Thanksgiving are always dedicated to being spent with family (the ridiculous white elephant gift exchange is the best). Our families are both very excited about us growing our family, and we cannot wait to share the love and fun our families have to offer.

What Led Us To Adoption

We both always dreamed of finding someone we love to grow old with and to raise a family with. Unfortunately, we found out that after the cancer treatments Alex endured as a child, he would not be able to create his own family the old-fashioned way. We went through a couple unsuccessful cycles of infertility treatments and very quickly realized that wasn’t the path for us to achieve our family. We have a lot of love, time, and experiences we want to share with a child, and we believe adoption is the best path for us to achieve this.
