dear expectant mother

Dear Expectant Mother,

Words cannot express our gratitude to you for considering adoption for your child. We cannot imagine how difficult this decision is, but we do know that it takes a great deal of courage, strength, and selflessness. We admire you and are truly humbled that you may be the one to make our dreams of parenthood come true.

As adoptive parents, we promise your child will know who they are and where they come from. We will speak regularly of their biological family and work to maintain and educate them about their culture and traditions. Love, family, and learning are three values we will also work hard to teach your child. Adopting a child is something we have desired for a long time, and we will work hard to ensure that your child knows love. That love will not only come from us as parents, but also their biological family and a large extended family that is excitedly awaiting his or her arrival. We will make sure your child knows they are loved completely by both their adoptive and biological families.

In experiencing love, family, and life, your child will have good and bad days. We believe that every experience is one we can learn from. As a family, we will laugh, cry, and grow together as we navigate this beautiful journey called life.

Thank you again, from the bottom of our hearts, for considering us!

Love,
Brian & Jake

About Us

We met during a snowstorm in March of 2015, and have been together ever since. From the beginning, we knew we were right for each other. We share a passion for many aspects of life, including the outdoors, sports, traveling, and, most of all, family.

Jake is a Spanish teacher and has a strong appreciation for language and culture. He enjoys traveling and has been to five different continents. He looks forward to sharing more of these experiences with a little one. Jake loves sports and running, but also has no problem staying home and binge-watching Netflix.

As a Director of Special Education, Brian is dedicated to serving others and creating opportunities for individuals with and without disabilities. He loves to cook and bake, garden, celebrate the holidays, and be surrounded by family and friends. Brian works out often, both running and weightlifting, and has completed two marathons.

Our Home & Pets

We live in a beautiful three-bedroom, two-bathroom, ranch-style home nestled in a quiet, family-friendly subdivision. We love going to neighborhood parties and watching the kids running around having a great time together. We’re lucky to live only a few miles away from a lake with trails, playgrounds, and a beach. We’re also just a short drive away from the bustling city of Madison, where we visit often to see sports games, musicals, and our family.

One of our favorite parts of our home is the yard. It’s a large, open space where our nieces and nephews spend a lot of time making memories. Our home is our favorite place to be, and we cannot wait to have a child to share it with.

Our Extended Family

We both come from large, loving and caring families that visit often and are so excited for us to be on our adoption journey. We are beyond blessed to have their support. We cannot wait to bring a child into our family to enjoy our many traditions.

Jake’s immediate family includes his parents, his sister, his brother, and his brother’s family. One of our favorite traditions with Jake’s family is Thanksgiving. Every year Jake’s parents host a big dinner for their extended family. It is a time filled with laughter, smiles, and great food. Jake’s dad is especially anxious to become a grandfather and share in all the fun.

Brian’s family includes his dad, five brothers, five sisters, four nieces, and three nephews. Some of our favorite traditions with Brian’s family include getting together for birthday and holiday parties, which occur almost every other month. The homes are filled with joy and laughter as we talk and celebrate. We cannot wait to host a birthday party at our home for our own child. We look forward to all the moments, big or small, and making new traditions of our own.

What Led Us To Adoption

We’ve known since we were dating that we wanted to have a family to share our life with. What led us to adoption is our strong connection to our families. Between all of our siblings, we are the proud uncles to nine nieces and nephews. The time we spend with our extended family only further affirms that being parents is something we truly desire as a couple. With both of us being in education, we see children meet and exceed their goals every day, and we look forward to being a part of that experience for our own child. We’re so excited and cannot wait to grow our family and experience all the highs and lows of parenthood.
