Family Type: Gay Couple
State we live in: Wisconsin

dear expectant mother

Words cannot express our gratitude for you taking the time to consider adoption for your child. It takes a great deal of courage, strength, and selflessness. We admire you and are truly humbled that you may allow us to become parents.

As you make this difficult decision, we want to make you a few promises. As adoptive parents, we want to make sure that your child knows who he or she is and where he or she comes from. We will speak of both his or her birth and adoptive family regularly. We will work to maintain and educate your child about the traditions and culture of his or her birth family. Though a child is becoming a part of our family and our traditions, we never want your child to forget where he or she came from.

Love, family, and learning are three values we will work hard to teach to your child. Adopting a child is something we have desired for a long time, and we will work hard to ensure that your child knows love. That love will not only come from us as parents, but your child will have a large extended family that is excitedly awaiting his or her arrival. In experiencing love, family, and life, your child will have good and bad days. We believe that every experience is one we can learn from. As a family, we will laugh, cry, and grow together as we navigate this journey called life.

Finally, we want to thank you. We cannot imagine how difficult this decision is for you. We want to thank you for helping to make our dream of being parents come true. Please know we will work hard to raise your child to be an individual that knows and loves his or her adoptive and biological family.

We both grew up in loving and caring families, and we both want to raise a child so they may also know the meaning of love and family just as we did.

About Us

We met during a snowstorm in March of 2015, and have been together ever since. From the beginning, we knew we were right for each other. We shared a strong passion for many different aspects of life, including being outdoors, traveling, and sports (watching and playing), but most of all, we share a passion for family. We both come from loving and caring families that visit often. As a couple, we knew one day we wanted to have a family to share our life with. As a Spanish teacher, Jake has a strong appreciation for language and culture. As a Director of Special Education, Brian is dedicated to serving others and creating opportunities for individuals with and without disabilities. We got married in 2018, and soon after, we agreed we were ready to begin our next and greatest adventure together as parents.

Our Home & Pets

Our home is nestled on a cul-de-sac in a quiet and friendly subdivision. We live in a beautiful three-bedroom, two-bathroom ranch house. There are many things we love about our home, but one of our favorite things is the yard. We have an open yard where our nieces and nephews spend a great deal of time running, playing sports, and making memories. We also love the location of our home since it’s only a few miles away from a lake with great trails, fun playgrounds, and a beach. Our home is our favorite place to be, and we cannot wait to have a child to share it with.

Our Extended Family

We both have large families who are excited for us to be on our adoption journey. We are beyond blessed to have their support. We cannot wait to bring a child into our family to enjoy our many traditions.

Jake’s immediate family includes his parents, his sister, and his brother and his family. One of our favorite traditions with Jake’s family is Thanksgiving. Every year Jake’s parents host Thanksgiving for their extended family. It is a time filled with laughter, smiles, and great food.

Brian comes from a large family that includes his dad, five brothers, five sisters, four nieces, and three nephews. Some of our favorite traditions with Brian’s family include getting together for birthday and holiday parties. The parties occur almost every other month. The homes are filled with joy and laughter as we talk and celebrate. We cannot wait to host a birthday party at our home for our own child.

What Led Us To Adoption

To be honest, our strong connection to our families is what led us to adoption. We both grew up in loving and caring families, and we both want to raise a child so they may also know the meaning of love and family just as we did. Between all of our siblings, we are the proud uncles to nine nieces and nephews. The time we spend with our extended family only further affirms that being parents is something we truly desire as a couple. We are excited and cannot wait to grow our family by adopting a child.
