Britta & Loc

dear expectant mother

We cannot express our gratitude for your selfless act. It is a blessing that you are considering us to raise your baby. We promise to unconditionally love and support your baby as they grow into their being. We will instill a love for learning, adventure, exploration, and kindness. We will be devoted to raising your child to be self-assured, resilient, playful, and independent. Your child will grow to develop passions and interests of their own and the ability to be impactful.

Our daily lives will include sit-down dinners with home-cooked meals, playtime, and working on homework together when your little one enters grade school. On weekends, we will start the morning with a hearty breakfast. In the spring, your little one will go on hikes and camping with us. In the summer, they’ll attend swimming classes. In the fall, we will go to the zoo and children’s museum. In the winter, we’ll go to the snow parks.

We look forward to surrounding your child with many cousins, grandparents, aunts, and uncles. They cannot wait to meet the baby, and we cannot wait to be devoted parents.

We hope to soon make a connection and develop a relationship with you. Thank you for getting to know us. Your child will always know of your selfless act, and you will always have our deepest gratitude for being such an important part of our life.

We believe true love multiplies when it is shared, and we can’t think of a better way to share our love than welcoming a child.

About Us

Our story has a typical beginning, but a not-so-typical 14-year-long journey along the way. We had our first date at Starbucks and talked nonstop. In an instant, it turned from friendship to something more, and we have been together ever since. We are two very different people from two very different cultures, yet we are joined by the bonds of love and mutual respect. An electrical engineer who leads a team of engineers toward innovation—that’s Britta. And an investment analyst who was formerly a therapist—meet Loc. Britta grew up in Germany and moved to California for work. Loc was born all the way across the globe in Vietnam and was raised in California. Our marriage stands on shared values of honesty, trust, and, above all, gratitude to the universe for bringing us and our families together.

Our Home & Pets

Our three-bedroom, two-bathroom townhouse-style condo is a welcoming place. We adore our home and love to dote on it. We come to it every day with gratitude and a smile. Welcoming a child into our home can only elevate such a blessing. We are surrounded by beautiful parks, great schools, fun playgrounds. It’s a wonderful community filled with family, friends, and, above all, sheer happiness. Your child will have their own nursery, and lots of family and friends will be invited to visit. After all, how can we not share such a blessing with others in our community? It’s a time to bake some bread together and break it together, too. Sharing smiles has only produced more of them for us.

Our Extended Family

Family is where life begins and love never ends. Dinners, barbecues, birthdays, brunches, celebrations, cheers, travels, and, of course, unconditional support—where do we even start? Our multicultural families give us so many opportunities to be with them and let us continue to share even more laughs together.

Loc has five sisters and one brother, and Britta has two brothers. Loc’s mom and one of Loc’s sisters are just a five-minute drive away. Add a few minutes more for some more family members. Others are across the ocean, but through technology, our love finds a way to allow us to always be around.

We frequently come together to share our traditions. Anniversaries? Britta’s parents just had their 50th wedding anniversary! Thanksgiving? Add a rib roast to the traditional turkey and potatoes, along with the local Turkey Trot before the festivities. Christmas? Yes, there is always a Secret Santa and the Santa Run. Oh, and try using oven mitts to open our gifts! There are joyful quirks, but they make our family so precious and special. Nieces, nephews, laughter, and love—we can’t wait to share this all with your child.

What Led Us To Adoption

We believe true love multiplies when it is shared, and we can’t think of a better way to share our love than welcoming a child. Our extended family members—some of them adopted, some of them biracial—have always been instrumental in shaping our belief in this love. The amazing voyage we started together more than a decade ago has always hinged on our desire to start a family, and adoption is something we have always talked about. Your child will be showered by not just our unconditional love and commitment, but also the warmth and company of a big family: 21 cousins, 5 aunts, 3 uncles, and a diverse group of many friends. We want to grow together, thrive together, and bloom together with your child.
