About Us

We met in 2007 at the gym. Jake was a personal trainer, and Cassie had just graduated from physical therapy school and was a member of the gym. We married in 2010 and now, 13 years later, we both still enjoy working out and encouraging each other in our fitness and life goals. We love to go hiking and to spend time outdoors together. Jake loves going to the mountains and fly fishing, while Cassie loves reading and going to the beach. We enjoy relaxing at home and watching Netflix or playing ping pong. We attend a nondenominational church as well as a life group on Sunday evenings. Currently, Jake is the owner of a physical therapy clinic, while Cassie is a physical therapist at an inpatient rehabilitation center. We’ve been very fortunate to have such a strong, loving relationship, which grows daily. We are best friends and love doing life together.

Our Home & Pets

We live in a prospering city with a highly competitive school district near a major metroplex in Texas. Our neighborhood contains two community pools, a park, a golf course, and sidewalks throughout the neighborhood for evening activities. We have a very calm and friendly 14-year-old dog named Rocky who is a terrier mix and weighs just under 30 pounds.

Our Extended Family

Jake is the younger brother of two brothers. His brother and sister-in-law have two boys and a girl. Cassie is the oldest of four siblings, all approximately three years apart. She also has one nephew and a sister-in-law on her side of the family. Jake’s parents have been married for 42 years, and Cassie’s parents have been married 38 years. Our families live in Oklahoma, approximately 30 minutes from each other, and we drive home as often as we can to spend time with them.

Our primary family traditions focus around Christmas. Every year, Christmas Eve is spent with Cassie’s extended family and relatives eating Tex-Mex and playing a Christmas game. On Christmas Day, we spend the morning with Cassie’s parents and siblings before we drive to Jake’s parents’ and spend the rest of Christmas Day with Jake’s relatives. In the past, we have taken trips with Jake’s side of the family, such as to the beach or a country cabin. We can’t wait to add a new member to our family and to make new memories and traditions.

What Led Us To Adoption

We struggled with unexplained infertility for many years but never tried fertility treatments because we always wanted to spend our time and resources adopting a child. We are very excited about the prospect of adoption! We had the amazing opportunity to foster to adopt a few years ago and took care of two little brothers for nine months before the judge reunited the boys with their mother. We were happy they had a positive outcome and decided private adoption would be our next phase in life. We have multiple friends who have both adopted and are adopted children themselves, all with incredible God-filled stories and testimonies. They, too, are excited and encouraging us on our adoption journey.
