Dear Expectant Mother,
Thank you for giving your child the gift of life. With that gift comes tremendous responsibility, that of loving and nurturing your child through life’s successes and challenges. This is the responsibility of encouraging and supporting, from the smallest moments to the greatest accomplishments.
Along the way, it’s the simple things that can make the biggest difference, and our commitment to you is just that: to make a different in your child’s life. We promise to make that difference by giving your child a healthy, happy, and loving home environment, complete with the opportunity to learn, the encouragement to make the most of what this world has to offer, and the guidance to be successful in living his or her dreams.
Our home is safe, peaceful, and stable, often filled with family and friends enjoying each other’s company and always the smells of home cooking. It is a place where love is unconditional, opportunity abounds, and where dreams are inspired. In considering adoption, you’ve not only given your child the gift of life, you’ve given your child, and us, the gift of family.
Words cannot express how brave you are, and how grateful we are to you.
We met while attending college, and from that lucky moment, we knew our lives would forever be changed. After college, we took an interest in traveling to see as many different and amazing places as we could before settling down. In addition to our travels, we have worked hard to further our careers and experience living in different places across the US, from upstate New York to Denver, Colorado, before returning to Texas to build our life and home. We’ve been together for over fourteen years, and now our focus has shifted to settling down and growing as a family. In 2014, we had a small and intimate wedding, with only our immediate family present, and recently, we completed construction on our new home, located on our historic family cattle ranch that has been in operation for over 100 years.
Our home is a four-bedroom farmhouse nestled in the center of the 6000 acre family ranch, surrounded by large trees, rocky hills, beautiful views, and miles of open space. We enjoy watching the beautiful sun rises and sunsets while we are out checking on animals or simply enjoying the fresh air and quiet sounds of nature. Although we don’t have any traditional pets yet, we do have cattle, horses, goats, chickens, and a donkey that keep us very busy and entertained. Our home has a huge front porch filled with rocking chairs that are needed for when we gather the family for any occasion: it’s the perfect place to enjoy a morning cup of coffee or an afternoon glass of iced tea.
Our Extended Family
We both come from very tight-knit families, and it seems we are constantly planning our next visit. Chris’s parents have been married for 52 years, and Patrick’s are not far behind, having been married for 43 years. Inspired by our own parents, we look forward to many years ahead, hopefully celebrating our own 50th wedding anniversary, and many more..
As for holidays, Thanksgiving is spent in Texas at the ranch, where there is no shortage of entertainment to keep everyone busy. Christmas has traditionally been spent in Virginia with Patrick’s parents, enjoying the holiday lights and sounds and, hopefully, the occasional snow fall. Our most treasured tradition is, of course, working the family ranch, as the land was settled by our relatives over 167 years ago and has remained in the family ever since.
A few of our favorite places, which we plan to return to in the future, include Austria, Portugal, and Sicily; experiencing the culture and eating great food always brings us to our favorite past time: cooking. Nobody goes hungry in our house, as cooking and baking are part of the daily fun!
What Led Us To Adoption
We knew our lives would not be complete without starting a family. In 2016, we were blessed with a son, Austin, who has brought such joy to our household that we cannot imagine a life without bringing in more children to share in all the fun. The idea of introducing a sibling brings us great joy, as we imagine how wonderful it will be to see them playing together: teaching, learning, exploring. Our goal is to provide a loving, nurturing home, living a simple country life while making time to still travel the world. We want to grow as a family through our shared experiences and to introduce our kids to amazing places, people, and a future where anything is possible.
