Dear Expectant Mother,
Having grown up in faith-filled Christian homes, we value the dignity of life. We plan to instill the same values we learned from our own families. The openness with which our families accepted our differences keeps us on the path of accepting the many cultures and people who surround our lives.
This journey we take together will be filled with loving care and support of the many choices you will face in the coming months. Your health and well-being as well as that of your baby will always be at the forefront of our daily thoughts. The possibility of adopting this baby will be a dream come true for us. We know that it is with heartfelt love that you provide this blessing.
Your child will grow up within a very large and loving family. He or she will grow up in a safe environment filled with the joys and laughter of life. We intend to instill values of family and friends, open-mindness, freedom of expression, and giving to others. We place a high value on education and on age-appropriate outside interests, which will provide opportunities for making friends, exploring life skills, and having lots of fun.
Thank you for considering sharing your most precious gift, your child, with us. Our hearts will always hold a special place for you.
It took a mutual friend to connect our two paths through a blind dinner date that sent us on a loving journey together. We both spent most of our years growing up in Louisiana, but Christopher spent some time in NYC and Arthur in Mississippi. Christopher’s compassion for kids led him to become a high school dance and math teacher, while Arthur pursued his career in accounting. Christopher’s passion for inspiring children's creativity and Arthur’s caring nature for helping others has led us to sponsor and support each other in a variety of community activities, such as color guard/marching band and Destination Imagination, a project-based challenge group that develops creativity, critical thinking, communication, and teamwork. We enjoy spending time together by cuddling up on the couch watching movies, playing video games, building puzzles, visiting family and friends, playing and watching sports, cooking, and playing with our nieces and nephews.
Our home has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a beautiful back yard with a large covered patio. The open floor plan makes an inviting and warm place for hosting gatherings with our family and friends. Cooper, our cat, loves the relaxing atmosphere of our home as he is always found either resting on the couch, enjoying the view outside, or finding someone to snuggle with to be petted. Our house is located in a quiet and friendly neighborhood with a park that has a playground and a walking trail. The subdivision is within the #1 school district. Various music, art, holiday festivals, parades, and museums embrace the history, tradition, and culture of the southern community we live in.
Our Extended Family
Christopher comes from a very large family, with his father having four siblings and his mother having nine siblings. Christopher has a younger brother and two little nephews (one is on the way). Arthur has a culturally diverse family, with his Honduran father being one of three children and his mother being one of four. Arthur has a younger brother, two older half sisters, four nieces, and one nephew. Both of our families love to spend time together whether it’s a birthday, a holiday, a special occasion, or just a family fun day. Some of Arthur’s Honduran family visits at least twice a year.
Our families love attending the traditional Christmas party. The Christmas party is a joyous themed event where themed outfits are worn, children and adults play Christmas games, and everyone has laughs during the white elephant gift exchange. Another tradition is hosting Thanksgiving for our immediate family. We all enjoy Arthur’s homemade apple pie after eating the delicious dishes prepared by everyone. Our families are thrilled about the adoption and are already planning family trips to the children's museums, zoo, aquarium, Disney World, mountains, beaches, and Mardi Gras.
What Led Us To Adoption
We have always dreamed of adoption. Since the beginning of our relationship, we have talked about adoption and how we want to be great dads. Adoption is an important aspect of our families as we both have adopted cousins. The experience of love and acceptance through adoption touched our lives long before we were even together, creating a special place in our hearts for this incredible experience. Our family is excited to welcome a new baby with open and loving arms, just as they have done for our cousins who were adopted. Adoption would give us the opportunity to build a family together that we otherwise would only long for.
