Dear Expectant Mother,
We can’t imagine the strength and courage it takes to make this decision. It is a selfless act of love and bravery to consider adoption, and we understand this is also a leap of faith. We want you to know how honored we are to be a part of this decision and that this is truly a priceless gift to our family that we will eternally cherish.
David can’t wait to share his love of comic books and his secret chocolate oatmeal cookie recipe. Bruce can’t wait to teach your child how to draw and play card games. Our families and friends are so excited to surround this child with love, and they support us in giving your child the best life possible, teaching them to care for others and grow into their wonderful unique selves.
Thank you, again, for making this incredible and difficult decision and for considering us as parents to your blessed child. It is because of you that we have the opportunity to make our family whole.
We grew up only twenty minutes apart in north Mississippi, but we didn’t meet until we were in our early twenties. Our lives took us to Tennessee, where we made lifelong friends and enjoyed some great experiences. After 11 years together, we married in October of 2017 and rode off in a hot air balloon in front of our friends and family! Currently, Bruce works for a healthcare company as a Director in IT. He received a promotion that led us to Nevada. David is a classically trained chef with a career running restaurants, hospital food service programs, and non-profit agencies. He took a position as an Agency Services Representative to help those in the community who are most vulnerable, including children and seniors.
We live in a three-bedroom, two-bathroom home in Nevada, in a neighborhood that has a pool and is close to many grassy parks. We have a dog named Eva who is older, very relaxed, and is basically a pillow with legs. She loves going for slow walks, sniffing everything along the way, and she also loves getting belly rubs and any extra deli meat that you don’t want on your sandwich. David enjoys testing new recipes, which Bruce gets to be the guinea pig for. We also love exploring the many mountains in the area, taking weekend trips to explore the West coast, and taking trips home to see all of our family.
Our Extended Family
We both come from smaller families, with just one sibling each: David has an older sister and Bruce has a younger brother. David’s sister and her husband have a little girl, who we both adore, and Bruce’s brother was just married in Germany, where he currently lives with his wife.
We are both close with our extended families back in Mississippi and Tennessee. We love being able to go back and visit for long weekend trips and the holidays. Our parents can’t wait for another grandchild, so much so they already have their nicknames picked out! They all enjoy visiting us in Nevada and can’t wait to have a grandchild to spoil. David’s best friend is more like a sister, and her son has been a joy; we are so lucky to be his godparents. Bruce’s best friend, who is also his cousin, has always been there for us both, too. We have been so excited to also welcome her newborn daughter into the family. Our families are all growing, and they have become more and more important to us with each extension. We love all of the time we get to spend with them.
In the future, we look forward to sharing holidays, special occasions, and annual family vacations with your child sharing fun, family, and all the love we have to offer.
What Led Us To Adoption
We have always known that we wanted to have a family of our own, although we didn’t always know how to make it a reality. We have family members and friends that have adopted children, and we have realized this is the right option for us, too. We both love being uncles and godparents and can’t wait to have children of our own to share that love with We want to share the world with our children, including our faith and our hearts, and we want to give them the best lives we are capable of.
