We are ready to welcome your child into our home and give them the love and care they deserve from the bottom of our beings. We will raise them to be honest, compassionate, caring, hardworking, and appreciative, but, most importantly, to be happy.
We will expose your child to all cultures and ethnicities, both locally and through foreign travel to experience things first hand. We want our children to grow up to be aware of the world around them and that anything is possible. We will encourage your child to try new things and not be scared of failure. We will be supportive, cheer them on in sporting events or after-school activities, help them with their education, and always be someone who will listen and help them make decisions.
We want to be able to pass along our family memories and traditions as well as create our own. We would like to thank you for taking the time to read about us. We know this process is very important to you in finding the right home for your child. The strength and courage to make this decision is to be applauded, and we will forever cherish your consideration.
We met over 15 years ago and are fortunate to be in a stable and committed relationship that continues to grow and evolve each and every day. We are an opposites-attract couple: David is the athletic and outgoing one, whereas Matthew is the more quiet and reserved one. We love each other’s sense of humor. David loves to play basketball and cook. Matthew loves being outdoors and doing photography. We love to travel the world and experience cultures and food. David works in the Sensors and Electronic Components Industry (for over 20 years). He manages a worldwide team that sells electronic components to the Medical, Industrial, Consumer, Aerospace, and Defense Markets. Matthew works in the Biotech Industry and wears several hats, including handling everything from HR to IT to Facilities to PR.
We live in a historic home in Northern California. We open up our home to our family and friends for holidays and celebrations, and we spend many days and nights in our backyard, whether swimming in the pool, BBQ-ing, or just hanging out. Our city is very open and diverse, as it is located in the heart of Silicon Valley. Our home is conveniently located within short driving distance of many great attractions, including the ocean, several major cities, the mountains, and the countryside. We are in walking distance of downtown, a library, and restaurants. During the week, we take walks around the neighborhood and university campus and go to play in the parks (Sebastian, our adopted son, loves the swings). On Saturday mornings, we walk over to the farmers market and get our fruit, vegetables, and flowers.
Our Extended Family
Family is very important to us. David’s family lives close by, so we see them the most, especially his mom and dad. He has two sisters and a brother, two nieces, three nephews, and a great-nephew and niece. We enjoy going to a variety of events, restaurants, wineries, BBQs, and celebrations with them. We also travel to see David's family in France.
Matthew’s immediate family is located in Iowa. We stay in touch through lots of phone calls, emails, and Facebook. His dad, while retired, remains very active in his community and friends. His mother recently passed away, but her memory, love, and spirit remain, and he talks about her with Sebastian so that he knows where Matthew’s parenting and love for him comes from. He has one sister, who has five children. Matthew also has five aunts, twelve cousins, and ten second cousins.
Our families are very supportive and excited of our decision to adopt again. We want our future child to be able to get to know everyone in our families, the same way Sebastian has. Matthew’s grandmother and aunt Nancy give the best hugs around, and we want our children to be able to remember those.
What Led Us To Adoption
We are a happily married couple with our adopted son, Sebastian. Going through the adoption process once, being chosen and entrusted by the birthparents to raise their child, helped us to realize that we wanted to adopt again. Our adoption experience with Sebastian was great, we met amazing people, created so many memories, and experienced the joy of life firsthand as we were able to meet Sebastian just a few hours after he was born. We remain in contact with his birth mother, sharing photos and stories. We have family and friends that have adopted children as well. There are so many children born that deserve a loving home, and we are happy to open ours again so that Sebastian can have a little sibling.
