Dear Expectant Mother,
For the mom who blesses us with a baby or twins,
We know this is not an easy decision. We hope that by reading our profile, you get to know us some and our hopes for your baby. We want to say thank you for considering giving us the family we have always dreamed of.
We promise to honor you and raise your baby knowing she or he is adopted and that adoption only occurred because you loved your baby so much you made this personal decision. We want to share as much with your baby as you are willing: your background, your name, what you love most, your birthday, and your hopes and dreams.
We promise to give your baby every chance to utilize her or his God-given talents. We promise always to be gentle and loving, to provide a good home, and to spoil your baby some as well.
Our baby gets two dads. You will always be Mom. You will always hold the first honor in our hearts, and our hearts beat with thankfulness and love every day because of you.
We love the song, “I Can Show You the World,” from Aladdin. Thank you for granting us the opportunity to share this beautiful world with your baby or twins.
Now I'm in a whole new world with you!
Soaring, tumbling, freewheeling
Through an endless diamond sky.
A whole new world!
A hundred thousand things to see…
Hold your breath. It gets better!
We are Wayne and David. Wayne grew up in Taiwan, and David grew up on a farm in Virginia. We met in London where Wayne was working when David came to London to visit friends. We met on a dating app after we both swiped right! We dated for almost a year, traveling back and forth, before we married in 2018 at our home, surrounded by family and friends. Wayne currently works in marketing. He will become a stay-at-home dad after the baby arrives, and he will raise our new baby to be bilingual in Chinese and English. Wayne is tall and athletic. David is a CEO of a global nonprofit that supports medical research. David loves to read and collect books. We enjoy life! We have traveled to more than 30 countries. We love to cook, and David likes to grill. Wayne makes Chinese food and the best dumplings. We love musicals, museums, and Disney. We also love to ride bikes.
Our home has a huge kitchen for yummy family meals. We live in a large suburban home in Northern Virginia in one of the best school districts in America. We have a large yard with grass and trees. The baby’s room is all set up with elephant-print wallpaper, a bookshelf full of children’s books, and lots of toys. Our dog is named Abbey; she is 16 years old. She has lived with David since she was nine weeks old. She is very gentle and loves to take walks. The neighborhood we live in is diverse, with families of many races. There are children in the neighborhood, so they are future playmates for your baby.
Our Extended Family
Wayne has a large family in Taiwan and cousins here in the U.S. They are very excited to have a new baby in the family. Our four-year-old niece, Chao, is excited to meet her new baby cousin. Wayne’s mother and father want their new grandchild to come visit them in Taiwan so they can read stories together in Chinese and teach the baby to love traditional Chinese culture. They will travel here to help us for a few months when the baby comes home.
David’s biological family has never accepted that he is gay. He has a large “chosen family” of friends who love and support both of us. David is active in a local Episcopal church, which promises to help love and support our growing family.
We celebrate American holidays, especially Halloween and Christmas. We also celebrate traditional Chinese Lunar New Year. Our family enjoys homemade meals together, especially at the holidays. We like to travel together with family members and friends and cannot wait to bring your baby with our extended family to Disney World in a few years. We live near many museums and historic sites that we can visit together as a family.
What Led Us To Adoption
A major motivator in our deciding to get married is that we have always wanted to have a family and children. We hope to have a baby or twins first. Perhaps later, when the baby is older, we may adopt another child. We are so excited! We feel like we have a lot of love to share. We can provide our baby with a good life and many opportunities. A baby or twins will make our family complete.
