About Us

We are Army buddies who fell in love. We are best friends and take great pride in cultivating a relationship built on love and a deep respect for each other. This is a value we hope to pass on to our child. We love spending time together. We enjoy cooking together, ballet, traveling, watching foreign films, and being active together. We really love to laugh; this is something we are also hoping to share with our child. We are of multi-racial descent: Franchesca is Afro-Cuban, and Kester is from Guyana. We have been together for four amazing and adventurous years. We met as military officers while serving in South Korea, which is why we are frequently referred to as “Seoul Mates” by our close family. We believe there are many ways to become parents, and we know in our hearts adoption is the absolute best decision for our family.

Our Home & Pets

Our home is a cozy home. We love our cabin-style floor plan, which offers three bedrooms and a bonus family room. We have a beautiful fenced-in backyard and porch area, which is perfect for Sunday coffee, entertaining, and, mostly importantly, children playing. We have one French bulldog, who loves children and snuggling. We live in a diverse suburban neighborhood, and we live only a few short minutes away from two family parks, one of which has a water park for children.

Our Extended Family

We have a huge Cuban and Guyanese family. They are vibrant, fun, creative, and full of love! Our relatives live all over the world, from Seattle, Washington, to the country of Guyana. We are a very close and supportive family, and we enjoy spending holidays and summer breaks together. We are a very large family and take great pride in maintaining our connection no matter the distance. We are excited at the idea of introducing your child to our loving family.

We absolutely love the holidays and have amazing memories of hosting our family and friends during Christmas. We also have very specific Cuban and Guyanese traditions. Franchesca was raised listening to Son Cubano, which is a genre of music that blends African and Spanish elements. The energetic style is very similar to salsa and involves precise footwork. Kester’s family bakes traditional rum cakes and provides indigenous spices for special occasions. Our extended family has kitchens that are generally filled with delicious Caribbean and South American aromas, and we are elated at the idea of sharing our culture with your child.

What Led Us To Adoption

We always knew we wanted to have children, but when we decided to start a family, we quickly realized the significant barriers we faced. Franchesca was diagnosed with severe endometriosis, and we were informed the amount of scar tissue would place an embryo at risk. Franchesca underwent several surgical procedures to increase the probability of conceiving; however, it was determined a pregnancy would not be viable and was not the path meant for us. Adopting a child has always been a part of our family plan given our community and professional work with children. We are honored and overjoyed with the idea of having an opportunity to provide your child with a lifetime of love and support.
